surveyclaim.com

Did anyone receive any calls from an organization promissing to give away a free all inclusive 3 day vacation ? did they ask you to goto surveyclaim.com ?

Please post your comments and let us and the public know if this is a scam or for real, please post your story in the comments section below.

Thank you for your time.

On Wednesday December 17, 2008 @8:15pm I received a call from Jay who claimed to be the processing manager for the Ramada Plaza Resort and Spa Hotel in Florida.

I've advised him that their company is listed on our website publiccomplaints.org and asked him to explain to me in detail every fee involved in this deal.

He said this is a 3 nights and 2 days, breakfast lunch and dinner included everyday for 2 people, also includes 2 day 2 night cruise.

Originally he said they used to charge $538.00 for 2 people.
But now he's offering it at $298.00 for 2 people!

There are also taxes that people have to pay when they leave The Bahamas which is $59 tax per person.

There are also hotel taxes which is $8-12 per night per package total for 2 people.

Another cost that's not included is the Ship Gas price which is $19.95 per package.

And if you decide to leave your car at the airport parking then its $8 day for cruise park terminal.

If you have any questions you may contact:
Jay Jacobs the Processing manager, he can be reached at 1-800-901-2932 ext. 2995, Monday to Friday from 4pm to 10pm EST. OR Saturday from 9am to 4pm EST.

Feel free to post your comments! We also would like to hear from the people who had already taken this offer, went on their vacation and came back.

Thank you.

  1. I just received a call from the number 412-414-3632 and they asked me 10 different questions, and then they said I won a cruise to the Bahamas and I had to leave my phone number, name, and zip code and they told me to go to surveyclaims.com to receive my "boarding pass". I haven't visited the website just yet, but I figured it was a scam when I googled it and got back many sites about it.

  7. I answered the survey, and went to the site after. It showed me a Free Cruise Voucher (not offical of course). I was told by the operator that after I visited the site and confirmed my information (just phone #, name, and postal code), that I'd receiver a call from the travel coordinator. So I guess I'll wait for that call, which I assume is when they'll ask for my credit card number....

  8. Ditto....my call said they wouldn't need any credit card info. I'll see.

  10. Ditto. I did the phone survey so I could get their business name to make a complaint. We are on the "do not call" list. I spoke to a human who started to ask my phone number and address. I asked her for her busines name (Answer Solutions) and address. She replied that they can't give out the address then she hung up on me but the phone was transferred to recording about collecting my prize at surveyclaim.com...which doesn't exist. I resent them calling my cell phone. Thanks. Laura, Vancouver, BC Canada

  11. I just received the same call and I gave them only the same information as above, just like everyone else I came to the web site and there is nothing there. I to am on the "do not call list". How can these people get away with this. If I had outstanding tickets, there would be a warrent out for my arrest... Thanks, Jamie, Sapulpa, Ok

  12. I TOO JUST RECEIVED THE SAME CALL MENTIONED FROM THE NUMBER 1-412-414-3632. IT WAS A RECORDING THAT PROMISED ME A COUPLE TICKETS TO AN EXOTIC CRUISE IN THE BAHAMAS IF I JUST ANSWER A FEW QUESTIONS, TEN TO BE EXACT. I ANSWERED THE FEW SIMPLE QUESTIONS AND ALSO JUST ASKED FOR MY NAME HOW I WOULD LIKE IT TO APPEAR ON MY TICKETS, THE BEST NUMBER TO REACH ME ON, THE BEST TIME TO CALL, AND MY POSTAL ZIP CODE. ONCE THIS INFO WAS RECEIVED BY THE SURVEYOR, SHE THEN ASKED ME STAY ON THE LINE FOR A WORD FROM ONE OF THEIR SPONSORS. FIGURED THIS IS WHERE THEY WOULD ASK FOR MONEY OR VITAL INFO. BUT, NOTHING.... JUST A BUNCH OF POINTLESS ADVERTISING. WELL, IF IT IS NOT A SCAM THAN I LOOK FORWARD TO MY TICKETS FROM THE CONFIRMATION E-MAIL ADDRESS THAT DOES NOT EXIST....... AND IF IT WAS A SCAM, WHAT A POINTLESS ONE IT WAS... ALL THEY DID WAS WAISTE ABOUT 4 MINUTES OF MY TIME AND THERE'S. AND IF YOU DID SCAM ME GUYS....... YOU REALLY NEED TO FIND SOMETHING MORE CONSTRUCTIVE TO DO WITH YOUR TIME, LIKE CHILL THE FUCK OUT, OR GET LLLLAAAAAIIIIIDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. I too just received a call at my work (I picked up our secretary's phone so I do not know the number). The voice messages said if I answer 10 questions, I will receive 2 boarding passes to an all-inclusive Bahamas cruise. So I figures I'd answer their questions as long as I wasn't giving out any personal info., of which none were personal. Then a man came on the phone and asked me for my telephone number and zip code. I gave him my cell number. I sure hope there is no way they can find out vital information from that! I too went to the surveyclaim.com site--nothing there. Actually, this is how I ended up on this page. upposed to call me within 48 hours, we'll see . . . I don't feel good about this and wish I didn't do it! So word to the wise, DON'T!

  15. I received several calls from these folks as well and was actually home today to answer the phone. After hearing the initial pitch, I decided today to go along with the survey to find out what the "hook" was, as clearly what was being offered was too good to be true.

I answered the automated questions and spoke to a live operator who briefly confirmed what I'd already given him. The automated system then kicked in again and then gave me the www.survey.com website--purportedly belonging to the "Survey Research Center"--that, not surprisingly, did not produce any results (other than a prompt after three failed log-ins to say that I should contact them, through their website, to describe the problems I was having).

In any event, my only real concern as the result of this process is that these less-than-honest people now have a name, phone number and postal code associated with myself. Although I won't be losing too much sleep over this (as this info is publicly available through the phone book, anyway), I'm curious to see why these scammers are going to the bother of collecting what appears to be "harmless" info on others. So far, from my research at this website and others where the same experience with the "Survey Research Center" was reported, it doesn't appear that the "hook" has really manifested itself in any dark way, however only time will really tell. Nevertheless, for those who wish to know a bit more about who may be responsible for these calls, please have a look at the information below that I was able to extract from www.networksolutions.com when I plugged in another web address (http://dnstree.info/) that looks remarkably like www.surveyclaim.com:

I haven't tried to phone these numbers, however if they do belong to the persons responsible, it might be a good idea to turn the tables on them!

Good luck to all and hope that this doesn't ruin an otherwise decent holiday season.

  17. Just one final research note: apparently, www.domainsbyproxy.com is a service that conceals the personal info of those who register a domain through them, so I would imagine that the info in my original post belongs to them and not the folks behind this scam.

Domainsbyproxy.com does, however, have a policy regarding law enforcement inquiries and criminal subpoenas, so hopefully someone with the ability to do something about this issue will have a chat with www.domainsbyproxy.com.

  20. I got the "cruz" call to and talked to a young manwho said he'd been talking to a lot of mean, angry Canadians. I explained in Canada, these calls are illegal. When checking outthe website and some of your reples I find the Kid was right in that he was calling offshore --- probably Arizona.

My question: Is there a world wide, or at least North American "DO NOT CALL" website or phone number?

  21. When I heard about the national do not call list here in Canada many months ago I specifically called them to ask a few questions.
I was mainly concerned because I know that some groups compile and sell lists of confirmed phone numbers to other companies. I also know that for a Do Not Call list to work, companies have to have access to it, and be able to see the numbers (if not the names) registered.
You see where I am going here.
So I asked them my questions.

#1 Who has access to the do not call list?
Answer(Not Verbatim): Any company that is registered with them.

Note: I assume registration for telemarketing/research companies is mandatory now

#2 Is there any laws preventing Canadian companies from selling the do not call list in part or in whole within Canada or outside of Canada?
I did not receive a clear answer, they seemed to think that they couldn't sell it within Canada, but were not sure about outside of Canada.

#3 Can a registered company share the do not call list with an affiliated company or a parent organization?
The answer was yes, but I now think I should have asked to speak with their legal department. They probably put me on hold for the next question so they could consult legal.

#4 Is there any laws currently that prevent an organization in the U.S.A. from obtaining the Canadian do not call list and calling the numbers on it since they can be fairly sure that those numbers are active?
As I said, they put me on hold, for several minutes. When the operator came back she said that essentially there was currently no laws in place that would prevent that. However she did say that they (meaning whoever she talked to, she never did identify her source) mentioned that some some laws would come into effect in the U.S.A. in regards to a national do not call list there in november '08.
No explanation of those laws was given so I still had and have no idea if any laws in the US prevent US businesses from calling numbers harvested from the Canadian DNC list.
I would take the time to find out if Canadian numbers can register on the US DNC list but it's safe to assume that that list, like canada's, will be available to the entire world, and very few places have laws that would prevent abuse of it.

The DNC list is a gamble, plain and simple.
You place yourself on it and you will indeed be able to reduce the volume of calls you get from the legitimate businesses, and take action against them if they break the law.
By placing yourself on that list however, you are putting up a red flag that says "this number is definitely in service. This number belongs to someone that doesn't want telemarketing calls, which means they might be litigious enough that they will stay on the phone long enough to hear a pitch/scam so they can ask for the callers information and file a complaint. If one out of every 50000 people called from the DNC list has a brain fart and gets caught by your scam, you'll make money. Even if you don't scam a single one of us, you can still sell a list of all the numbers on the DNC that actually answered the call, and the ones with active answering machines."

After my conversation about the DNC list I chose to not have my number listed, and still choose not to.
Instead I stick with my time honoured tradition of harassing the callers.
    Effective methods:
Act like a complete fish. Enthusiastically provide them with false information, ask questions about their product/service only if the question your asking will give them the impression that you are already hooked.
Try and extend the conversation as long as possible, stretch it out with as many generic and innocent questions as possible, stutter, pretend to forget what you were about to say, anything.
    The burn is your choice:
Hang up before giving them all the info they need.
Make some form of very loud noise into the phone (crank that stereo).
    OR
Get completely rude or insulting, the more unsettling your comment the better.
    OR
Change your tone to very smug, thank them for being foolish enough to stay on the line for the trace to complete and inform them the conversation was recorded and their voice pattern will be filed for later use as evidence.
(DO NOT IDENTIFY YOURSELF AS ANY FORM OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENT, EVER, UNLESS YOU LEGITIMATELY ARE ONE.)

  24. Hello,
I got the same call on 2/11/09. I did a little research and the surveyclaim.com website looks a great deal like the Survery Research Center's home page (University of Michigan in Ann Anbor.) I called them to ask them about the survey, which obviously is not beiong conducted by them. They now have surveyclaim.com on their radar

  25. I just got the call this morning. Started with a "You have 1 new voice message, press 1 to listen" repeating. So I pressed 1, it asked me a few survey questions, then said I had won a trip to Nassau and the Bahamas. I provided my phone number (they already have it, no big deal) and zip code (I'm in college, also no big deal) and was told to go to surveyclaim.com and log in at the center of the page with the phone number and zip code I gave the operator. So I did...it also asked for an e-mail but it's not required. It showed my survey answers and the stuff I told the operator. I confirmed it and was taken to a page saying that I "have been issued a 2 day 2 night all inclusive Nassau Bahamas Cruise. Your information has been forwarded to Imperial Majesty Cruise Lines for processing. One of their Cruise Coordinators will be contacting you within the next 72 hours to go over all the information regarding booking your complimentary Cruise."

It doesn't say when the cruise is but it does say "You will depart from Port Everglades, Florida to Nassau Bahamas/Paradise Island sailing onboard the Regal Empress from Imperial Majesty Cruise Lines."...so I'm guessing at worst I would have to pay to get to Florida or the cruise would be on a day that I couldn't go...

There are also some images and video on the site of the cruise ship. It sounds too good to be true, but I still haven't given out any major information! I got something like this when I was about 8 but couldn't "win" because I wasn't 18...my mom was all disappointed...if this isn't too good to be true that would be sweet.

  26. I would not even go to that website. It probably doesn't ask for your info because it is tracking the cookies on your computer or something so it can advertise to you, or worse. Just steer clear of it.

  27. These people keep calling me back. My story, much like all of yours, started with taking a 10 question survey. Well when they told me who they were and what they were about, I investigated everything about them I could find. I am a police detective so my investigation was VERY thorough. I found all the information on Ramada Resort scam etc. So when the "travel coordinator" called me back in 48 hours, I dropped the bomb and turned the tables on them and asked the "tough" questions. After a lack of explanation, I told them who I was, what I did for a living and that I had read all about their scamming ways. They ARE legit in that you will get a cruise. Trick is, you will end up paying THOUSANDS of dollars for a 3 day cruise AND have to attend a timeshare of 90 minutes which is found on page 21 of the brochure in the FINE PRINT! So long story short, I tell them no thanks. Well they keep calling me and I keep explaining why I am no longer interested. Well today (3-21-09) I get a call from a Jim Brady calling from 800-901-2932 wanting to know why I had turned down such a great offer. After explaining my research for the 5th or 6th time, he went on to tell me that they were a new company, a different ship and I could check all the scam reporting websites (ripoffreport.com etc) and that I would not see anything about them in a negative light. I told him I would follow up with it and call him back. I did check into them and found out they were just registered in Port Everglades under the cruiseship name of Bahamas Celebration. They are legit and their website is "THECARIBBEANCRUISELINE.COM" Here is a link to information about the company and the ship (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Prinsesse_Ragnhild). I think it's a case of you get what you pay for as the ship was built in 1981 so it's almost 30 years old and at one time was listed as a "ferry vessel" so I don't think it will compare with the major cruise line ships which is why they can give away 3 day cruises for next to nothing. They are part of the CELEBRATION CRUISE LINE company which is legit, as my grandparents used to sail with them every other year to Bermuda and loved the experience....however they sailed on A LOT newer ships than the Bahamas Celebration!!!! Anyway, I hope this information proves a little bit more helpful than what the previous posts were reporting. I still will not be accepting of anything from this as I was always taught 1st impressions last a lifetime and somehow, someway, I still think this company is linked to the Ramada Resort scam information I found tons of information on. But to each his own of course. Just my own opinion and neverending quest to help the unsuspecting from the bad guys! Take care and be safe everyone!

  29. I got the infamous call at 9:45 am today promising the free 3 day cruise to the bahamas! To claim this all expense paid vacation simply answer 10 questions, then wait to speak to a representative to confirm this vacation! I did the survey app. 3 mins spoke to a live person she asked to confirm my name and telephone #, then enter the web-site, The only personal information I gave was my name and phone #! they asked questions like "are you on a city operated sewer system or do you have a privately owned septic system". "are you or anybody in your household diabetic"! This info would be of value to someone in that business and they probably are selling the names and phone numbers to companies which would pay well to get that information!!! As far as the trip goes, guess I'll wait and see, but I won't give any credit card or any banking info out, even if they need only a .99 processing fee!!!! Take care everyone!!!

  33. I got a call... she said in a monotone voice "you've won a cruise to the Bahamas"... 8 day cruise, 2 nights in orlando with disney world passes, free car rental, 24hour waiter assigned to our room(on the cruise), and to top it off 3 free nights in Vegas. WOW, what a deal! it must be legit. For small fee of $299US per person,(plus flight to florida) +taxes, port fees. I asked for a number to call them back, so i could google it. She was reluctant, but then gave me some 800 number that she said wouldnt be able to 'reserve' my trip. So i asked her to call back tomorrow. The power of the interweb rules. The only cruisin' i'll be doing is down the 401 to and from work.

PS for $299/pp you can get a legit cruise (plus flight) without the timeshare B.S. It's not worth the risk.

  43. Funny I receive a call today from 412-901-1236 it says on my caller ID its a cell phone and 412 is a Pittsburgh area code so being that I am from Pittsburgh originally I answer the phone. It is this survey crap well I listened for a while thinking I could remove my name from the call list (not to mention the Bahamas sound pretty good but figured it was a scam for personal information). Nope not a button for removal so I figure heck I'll do the survey and when someone comes on the line to get my information I'll tell them to take me off the calling list. Instead no one gets on the line and the call goes into another survey for that gold for cash stuff so I hang up. I believe this is a scam! I really hate telemarketers!

  45. Last night I received the exact call as the others have commented from the 412 area code promising the Bahamas cruise for 2 if you take the 10 question survey. Every question I repeated to my husband sitting by and felt fine answering as no personal info was requested. Then the same as the others said as well as the man commented "please be assured you will never be asked for any banking acct info or credit cards as this is totally free just for taking the survey". KNOWING that NOTHING is FREE, we thought what the heck, check it out.....could not find site "surveyclaim.com" but found this site. As suspected, just another scam. PEOPLE! NO ONE WILL EVER GIVE YOU A TOTALLY FREE VACATION....EVER! Stop wasting your time and get on the "no call list" as we did today. God Bless!

  46. I recieved a call this morning stating that I won a 3 day cruise to Nassau/Bahamas, all I had to do is answer 10 questions. I did the silly survey and an operator came on. She asked me my name, zip code, and telephone numbers where I can be reached. Look if it is a scam they will just be practicing because I am broke. I went to the "surveyclaim.com" and received an error. I couldn't get on the web site. I want to say this is not a scam because many people have posted their call and no one has returned with a complaint nor any news about a cruise

  47. I received the call at about 6:31 pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 412-901-1236. I decided to answer the questions against my better judgement because they advertised a cruise for two, to Nassau Bahamas. I answered the (10) survey questions which seemed harmless. My age group, sex, whether I use a debit, credit card, or a check, if I have health insurance, if anyone in my family has diabetes, if you rent or own, etc.. Once you are done with the questions, they transfer you to an answering service. The representative asked me for my name, best phone number to have a travel agent contact me, and my zip code. She told me to go to www.surveyclaim.com and login with my phone number and zipcode I provided. Once she was finished I was trasferred back to the automated system to accept or decline a home security system.

The website does not exist. Its seems to be a very agressive approach to to mail offers. They assume most people will provide accurate information if they are interested in a "free" trip.

Most people can be googled to figure out an address. I know my information is a click away. The zip code and phone number will help narrow their search in an attempt to get the address. All of the questions answered on the survey helps them to narrow me down what junk mail to send. This is the most they can do since they do not have a social security number or any financial information.

I will be looking forward to a call from a travel agent, which I am sure will be real. Again, I strongly feel this is an agressive approach to make companies money!!

  51. Received the same call at work. Figured it might be a scam but what was the harm in answering the questions. After answering the questions, I went to the website and there was no such site. What a waste of my time. If they decide to call my number, wait to see what I have to say to them. Don't do it!!!

  52. yup i got a call too. They asked me to answer 10 questions and then requested name and zip code. They have promised that a sales rep. will get back to me. It didn't seem realistic to me and from what I read, I will not be answering the phone again when they call. btw, the rep. i spoke to said the company name is Answers and Solutions.

  54. to be honest I just received a call from them and I really comtemplated if to give them my information or not, because maybe about a month ago my uncle and his wife got a call from those same type of people not sure of the company but he was on a 7 day all inclusive trip through bahamas and some other islands, and he did admit that he did have to pay the taxes on like the hotel boat etc but between the both of them it was under 500$ and to me that sounds like a sweat deal if I could spend a week all paid and all i gotta pay is taxes with my wife in the caribbean..count me in thats well over 4000$ and he absolutely loved it ,so much that he wanted to take his kids next time recommended that i must do it sometime in my life,so im not sure if they have their ones that they actually come through on or if its the same company, but I could guarantee that alot of scammers are hearing about these things and just branching off and doing their own thing based on the market,So just keep your guards up but dont put a blind eye on good opportunities either.

  55. I don't know about you, but I can't think of a time when you can take a trip to Florida get a rental car and stay in a 3 star hotel with a family of five and get 5 passes to universal studio for $300.00 and spend 5 days there. I did last year by participatiing in one of these surveys. The passes were for 7 days. My gas cost from my Home State to Florida was $180.00 roundtrip. When I got there I did another survey and had the option to get four passes to Universal Studio or get $150.00 cash. I got the cash 30 minutes later, thats how long it took me to get from their office to the ticket booth and to the front of the line. I can't say they all are legitimate but this one was. Im a single mother and probably would not have otherwise been able to take my family at that time. I thank God for that blessing.

  58. I just received a similar call from412-414-2972. I was asked 10 questions, really no personal info. I was promised a Nassau, Bahamas cruise for 2. Then, I listened to a sales pitch for a home security system. iwas told to go to the aforementioned web site. We'll see about boarding passes.

  59. I received this same call on Monday morning. I was asked to answer 10 survey questions (no personal information was asked) and then transferred to a representative that asked for my name, phone number and zip code. He gave me a web address to claim my cruise and said that someone would contact me within 48-72 hours. I, like many of you, thought this sounded to good to be true and know better than to give out personal information. BUT since they did not require personal information and I did not have to give a credit card I figured it wouldn't hurt to see what this was about. I logged in to the website and gave my email. It said a confirmation would be sent to me. I have not received an email nor a phone call, so I would guess this is not legit. I would be very careful participating in the survey and make sure you do not give out any personal information.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I recieved the survey call a few weeks ago, and this morning a women called asking for me to book my cruise. I was suspicious after reading these complaints a few weeks ago, so I asked her flat out if this was a scam and if she was going to ask for my credit card number. She said she would need my credit card number, but only because "the bars on the ship would require it". While listening to her background noise, all you could hear was what sounded like a bunch of people laughing. I told her that I was not interested and hung up.

  62. Yeah I received the same phone call just from a different number and caller Id (202-495-7100 Este Sol) I answered the 10 questions, and a live agent asked for my phone number( which they already had duh!) and my name. My name is hard to spell, and pronounce, so I doubt they even spelled it right anyway. But I visited the site surveyclaim.com, and it has an error, or some bull crap. They call was sponsored by some free in home alarm system, which was probably a scam. A free cruise would be nice, but I can find a better deal that is legit, without the scam. I just wouldn't give my personal information out. I'll wait for that agent to call me back. I doubt they will, and when and if they do, I hope they're ready to hear an earfull! God Bless everyone

  64. I got the call yesterday and answered all of the questions, giving out my postal code and name. After I did this, I realized it was a bad idea, looked it up, and found this. It's definitely a scam. I called my bank to alert them of what happened. Apparently these people will ask personal questions to gather information about you in hopes of being able to pass the security questions when calling your bank. I suggest if you gave out any information that you notify your bank and have them put your account on alert.

Somethings in life are free like free samples, the free vs underwear card I get everymonth, and I have won a free cruise from a contest before. It is very common to pay boarding fee's. Time Shares pay tons of money to get you to listen to a spil and if that all I have to do for a cruise even if the ship is not as nice so what. If it is a scam its out $120, wow I spend that much on perfume and movies, not a big deal folks chill out! I am going to pay it and see what happens will post back with results, take care~

  81. I received a call at my office today from ESTA SOL (202) 495-7130. It started with horn blowing like a boat horn. Then a recorded male voice said I would receive two free cruise tickets to Nassau if I answered just ten questions by pressing the numbers on my phone key pad. Then there was the sound of key pad numbers being pressed, which sounded real, so I hung up immediately, fearing that this was a scam of some kind. Then I searched the web to see what this was about and found this webpage.

  82. I received the call and questions, since they did not ask any personal questions, I went along with the survey. They called me at work and no one has that number but the vacation spot I just booked.

  85. I think I have figured out this scam. Its all about collecting information. After I answered the 10 questions I talked to the operator like everyone else. They took my name and zip code and told me to go to the website to collect my tickets. When you go to the website you enter your phone number and zip code and it doesn't work.

After 3 times it prompts you for your name, street and e-mail address so they can "help" you. Really they are just gonna send you more junk now that you have given them complete contact information.

  86. My call came in from 202-507-7338. Any time you see the same company changing their area code(s) for their business line, get suspicious. The 412 a.c. (seen last year) is for Pennsylvania, the 202 a.c. is for Washington, D.C. There are ways that a company can "spoof" their phone number to make it look like anything they want. They referred me to www.surveyclaim.com, which appears to be a web site promoting participation in suveys -- supposedly paying people for their opinion(s).

Disclaimer on the web site states that "free boarding passes" do not include port charges. I'm reasonably certain that there are other "hidden" charges, too. Use at your own risk.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I receive this very call from 202-507-7338 and from these post this scam has been in effect for a few years now. They lead you to www.surveyclaims.com, but they give out many error messages that prevent you from getting any information on their "boarding pass" offer. I am seriously considering leading a personal crusade against this company. This really irritates me!

I asked her 'how did you get my number when its not published? Where do you know me from?? She could not answer because it is a random call, made from a computer that spits out the free stuff when anyone answers. The added fees is where they profit. SAD and underhanded

i didn't actually check the number they called from, they actually called me at work, i did answer the questions, and at the end, i talked to a human who asked me if this number was the best number to reach me, and, dummy me, i gave her my number. she also asked for my zip code. then she hung up on me and i heard the recording agian that said got to surveyclaim.com and sign in with the phone number and zipcode you just gave the receptionist and you'll get your boarding passes for your all inclusive trip for two to the bahamas!
well, i go there, the website is called Survey Research Center and there's a login spot, just like they said. the next step is giving them my email address.
then i checked the Better Business Bureau.(duh, again) They are NOT accredited because the BBB can't get ahold of them, there is no address and the phone has been disconnected.

THE CRUISE IN MIND HAD THE SOUND OF A FOG HORN BLAREING IN THE BACK GROUND WITH CHEESY SOUND EFX OF IT SOUNDING LIKE IT REALLY WAS YOUR CAPTAIN SPEAKING OVER HIS CELL PHONE ON SPEAKER OR SOMETHING. I COULD PROBLY DO THIS TOO FROM MY HOME USING MY PIANO KEYBOARD OVER A SPEAKER PHONE.

ALL SCAMS SIMPLY PUT . EARN YOUR VACAS THE OLD FASIONED WAY . BUY THEM.

ONE MORE THING AS LONG AS THE PHONE NUMBER IS A LANDLINE WHITEPAGES.COM IS A HACKERS BEST FRIEND. THIS SITE WILL ACTUALLY GIVE YOU ADDRESSESS FOR FREE AS LONG AS IT IS A LANDLINE.
DONT GET ME WROND I LIKE THE WEBSITE JUST MAKING A POINT THAT A PHONE NUMBER CAN GIVE YOU ALMOST EVERYTHING.

  121. the call came from 202-534-3123 (Washington DC area). 10 questions - same Bahama promise ... I googled the site I was directed to ... but elected to go to this page and read up. I think I'll take a BIG FAT PASS on the FREE cruise.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Interested in a few more people (legit) posting - if they actually tried to take this cruise - and what they paid, details. Good luck to all ....

  123. ive been getting calls from a washington number for a few months now. today i decided to answer. i took the survey and gave them my information. the website they sent me worked and i was given a confirmation number. they also sent me an email. so we'll see what becomes of it.

Yes, I just received the same call and actually I gave all the information. I don't know whats going to happen now. I have given my full name and telephone no only. However, I am scared now. I think they are going to give me call in 3 business days.

    Lets see what happens.

  125. My call came from 202-534-3116. Same infor asked. Website seems legit. Received the printed confirmation and someone is suppose to call.

I asked the person I was passed along to afater the survey if this is for real...he said yes. I said is it free...he said yes. Not that he wouldn't lie.

  126. I just received a call from Esta Sol, (202)534-3116. They told me that I had won a two day boarding pass for a cruise to Nassau, Bahamas. All I has to do was answer 10 questions, which were automated, and I would get the free passes. After answering the questions, they told me to go to www.surveyclaims.com. I googled the website and THANK GOD this popped up. I'm also in law enforcement. Nothing in life is free!!!! I will keep paying for what I want!

    ReplyDelete
  127. I received the same call, saying to go to the website www.surveyclaim.com. I went there, after googling and finding it was a scam, went to the site to the contact section. I put in a bunch of fake info, hit submit, and their website HTML code didn't even compile correctly: there were a bunch of syntax errors. If they're going to run a scam, at least make it fool-proof.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I just got the same call. My roomie answered the questions and stuff, but then we checked the site and I decided to Google it.

I assume this means we're going to get a million and a half more calls and that they're selling our names and addresses and phone numbers.

To ANONYMOUS on 10/22 at 9:57PM, it is good to see our law enforcement hasn't lost their grip on the old oh-well-attitude.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I got a call from 202-495-7153 and they asked me all the stuff in the prevous posts. I called them back and an automated system said "If you are not interested in recieving any future calls regarding our special promotions and would like to be placed on our do not call list please press 1, please wait 72 hours for your request to be processed." Just hearing that makes it obvous it is a scam.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Hi, i got a call from Estasol at 202-495-7109 offering me a free trip to the Bahamas if I would answer just 10 questions. It started with a horn blowing and a man talking and then a women came on briefly to get my name, telephone number and zip code. I was then directed to www.surveyclaim.com to get my vouchers. I felt like this was to good to be true, yet it was exciting. The people are suppose to call back soon. One of the quesions they ask is whether I use a major credit card, cash, or debit card. That bothers me a litte. However, I have some lawful ways to catch criminals if they want to try and get into my business.. I was scammed once....I've learned the hard way how to catch a fly.. hehe

    ReplyDelete
  131. Umm have any of you actually been on the cruise. I see alot of "to good to be true", but no one has been? You all think its a scam I actually work for the company and we have a contract with the survey company. I dont know whats wrong with there website, but it has nothing to do with Caribbean Cruise Line. The cruise ship has been refurbished it is not a new ship. BY THE WAY YOU RECIEVE AN AUDIO RECEIT FOR YOUR PORT TAXES. IF IT WAS A SCAM WHERE IS THE FBI? By the way i have been on the cruise myself and its nice. To the cop that says he is doing research, if your port tax is only $59 why not come do some real research and check it out. Its only 59 dollars , make sure to bring a camera we love free advertisement.

  132. I got the call at 6:28pm from "Service Message" 202-534-3131 I answered the questions, amazed that they didn't ask for a credit card number, went to surveyclaim.com, then found this site. I went back to surveyclaim.com and deleted all my info and saved it again and now it doesn't recognize me- maybe that will end it- I HATE scams- really they need to get a life and find something productive to do!

  133. November 6, 2009 at 4.09 p.m. my 85 year old mother answered a call from phone # 1 000 000 000 (unusual number) and got the offer of 2 nights 3 days in Nassau. So far all they have are the answers to 10 questions, my phone number and postal code. Someone will call within 3 days with the boarding passes.

Thank you to all those who have reported this - otherwise I would not have known that this is just another trickster.

  135. Hi I just received a call from 000-000-0000. Claimimg i just won a trip. They wanted to confirm my postal code. To complete this call they asked ramdom questions. I immediatly called the do not call number and hopefully will not hear from them again!

  139. I got the same call as above. Caller ID showed it was from phone # 202-534-3111, Washington, DC. It started with horns and captain speaking recording, then 10 question survey, then live operator, asking to confirm name, phone # and best time to be contacted, then recording to go to www.surveyclaim.com. I should have known better.

    ReplyDelete
  140. same call from phone 202-534-3111. Went on the website and supposed to get a call from TA in 72 hours. I think this is legit, what happens is most people don't have the money to pay for airfare for a 2 day cruise. It's not worth the time and money so most people will not actually redeem the tickets. The airlines do the same thing when asking for volunteers to give up seats on oversold flights, the percent of people who redeem those are under 10%. I wonder if they call people in Florida? anyone from Flordia?

    ReplyDelete
  141. I also got the call from the Washington, DC - 202-495-7153 to answer a 10 question survey for a trip to the Bahamas. After the survey a so called live person came on the line to verify my name and phone number and then BAM...a recording came on stated to go go www.surveyclaims put in your phone number and zip to receive your prize and the moment I knew this must be a scam.

    ReplyDelete
  142. I also got a call to answer a 10 question survey for a trip to the Bahamas. I believe that this offer of a 2-day Nassau Bahamas cruise is just a scam because when I checked the cruise line mentioned it does not even appear to exist!!!!!! What a scam!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  143. I got the call in 2008 and took a 10 question survey logged onto surveyclaim.com, entered my phone number and zip code. I talked to a travel agent 2 days later received an email while on the phone and took the 5 night cruise to the Bahamas 6 months later. All I had to pay was the taxes. Ended up costing me approx. $400 for 2 people!! It was beautiful!!

    ReplyDelete
  144. I just got a phone call also, approximately 10 minutes ago. I am very paranoid about identity theft and fraud. The minute I'm asked to give up any credit card information, that will be my confirmation that this is indeed a scam. The economy is bad and people are doing some extreme things to get money.

    ReplyDelete
  145. First time I've gotten a scam call....learned the hard way? Time will tell I'm afraid....I got the answering machine message twice, then they found me at home. Foghorn, 10 automated survey questions, the same that other folks mentioned. I asked the live person on the phone if there was a catch, timeshare or something, credit card needed, before I would give my name. She denied any catch of course. I went on their surveyclaim.com ebsite and submitted the info confirming cruise tickets. I actually went on their website to find contact info to run them thru the Better Business Bureau. But nothing. Alarms went off for me when I couldn't open up the video tour of ship, decided to google the cruise company. It looked like a legit cruise company website. Listed misc fees not paid for, expected that...thought wow, is this legit...no outright lying that I saw yet. Then I googled some more and found this website....YIKES! I guess I'm the sucker they fish for. SOO thankful for the various postings recommending to log back into their website and alter my info. I did that, double-checked that it was saved, and then lastly altered my phone number. Now my real number isn't recognized in their system. I sure hope that took care of it....I'll be watching my account information and credit report more closely....

    ReplyDelete
  146. Same call here - I did their little survey and was transferred to the operator. They called me on my phone line at my place of business so it isnt associated with me at all. I told them my name (which has an odd spelling and was not asked to be spelled out) and my zip but have not logged into the website. I think that's where they get you. There you give them your name, they have a zip and a phone number. They also likely ask for an email address. I'd say just like any other data-mining scheme, they put two and two together and keep at it until they get what they're after. They say they'll call you back even if you can't log into their site so I'll see if I get a follow up call. If not, I'll know I did the right thing by not logging into their website.

  150. I also received the call, was taken in and gave them the ten answers to their questions. Confirmed my postal code and phone number with them. I am usually so careful about this kind of stuff and hang up. This time, however, it seemed innocent questions were being asked so I continued on with the call. I also wonder what the purpose of this scam is. Is there somewhere that we can register a complaint?

    ReplyDelete
  151. I got the same calls. Checked on everything. This is a SCAM.
Imperial Majesty Cruise Lines does exist (IN NAME ONLY). I asked relatives in Ft. Lauderdale to check the cruiseport. The Regal Empress is NO LONGER, or it's a boat that has been "painted over". The last recordeer Regal Empress was a boat commissioned in 1954! I do not think the US Government would allow a 56 year old boat to sail into US waters unless it had full Coast Guard clearance!

    ReplyDelete
  152. Everyone is saying there is nothing there but I went there and IT IS THERE! It probsably is a scam but the site is there and you can enter your phone and zip and you get the confirmation. Maybe the scam is all the extra fees and taxes, or flying to Florida?

    ReplyDelete
  153. I also got a call from the number, i had to answer 10 questions and after that they asked me for my name, and postal code. I gave them the wrong info. and when I went to the website WWW.SURVEYCLAIM.COM, I signed in and they said I have to pay government taxes and other charges of the hotel. And it also stated that the cruise will be from florida to bahamas, so basically, I also have to pay by myself to get to florida because I live nowhere near there; I live in CANADA. ITS ALL A SCAM. So don't give any personal information to them.

  158. My call came from 202-495-7167. I answered the questions while googling the number and wound up here, but not until after confirming my name, phone number and zip with the representative. Haven't logged in yet. I asked a few questions about who she represented. She originally said she was with "the answering service for the cruise line". When I asked what line, she said that a number of cruise lines use their service to fill unfilled spaces, and that they do give away spaces to random persons. That was as far as I got, haven't logged in to the site yet. Checking out http://www.ripoffreport.com/Travel-Agencies/Ramada-Plaza-Resorts/ramada-plaza-resorts-imperial-2e7yy.htm now.

  159. same story here...i think this is how polls are conducted because if someone calls you and asks for a minute of your time regarding the current health care bill, they will be hung up on. But, as soon as there is an incentive involved (i.e. a free cruise to the Bahamas), we all answer any bullshit that we have to, even though we all knew in the back of our heads this was a scam from the beginning.

  160. My Bf just got this call. I'm all excited, but of course very aware of the possibility that this is a scam. What I want to know, has anyone actully gotten a trip? 171. These losers are some of the lowest I have seen. They call themselves "Esta Sol' or 'Answer Solutions' or 'Level 3 Communications'. They say they are out of Florida, or Washington D.C., or Colorado. They use many, many diferent phone numbers such as 202-495-7180, 202-495-7134, 202-495-7123, 202-495-7103 and many others. you can sk them repeatedly to stop calling you and sometimes they say that they WILL stop calling you. But they don't actually stop. They just tell you that, over and over. And they keep calling. If you google these people, you will see thousands and thousands of complaints against them, all over the internet, on many different websites. If every one of those complaints had been filed in the proper place, something might be done about the people. YOU NEED TO FILE YOUR COMPLAINTS AT THE FCC, THE FTC and YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL. Complaints to all 3 of these agencies can be done online and they take about 5 mins each. Don't bother complaining to the BBB, because this company is NOT a BBB accredited business. So they don't care what the BBB thinks. Just file your complaints with the
    FCC
    FTC
    your State Attorney General

I received one of these famous phone calls from a telephone number 0000000000.I thought that was interesting! Anyway, I listened and answered the questions.Out of curiosity,( I just knew that it was too good to be true), I started to google the website www.surveyclaim.com and saw s-c-a-m before I completed typing in the address. So here I am now reading about the hundreds of people like myself who they tried to scam. I tell you, they are good. Look how many years they are at this!

  177. HAHAHAHA I thought it would be funny to call them up at the number at the top...1-800-901-2932. It says use ext 2995, but it doesn't ask for an extension. I just keep calling saying "congratulations you just won a new car!" Then i just let the conversation go on until they hang up. It's been pretty funny so far. I want to annoy them like they annoy me when they interrupt dinner with my family with a scam.

  184. Hi everyone. These scammers and solicitors will not stop because they make money from 1 fool in a 1000. Here is what YOU can do. WASTE THEIR TIME! If the 999 non fools (that’s you and me!) can consume 10 or 20 minutes of time with a rep from the scam company, it will take them a very long time to get money from that 1 fool. SO TALK WITH THEM, ASK THEM QUESTIONS, GET THEM TO PHONE YOU BACK, SAY "YES" TO SOLICITORS (they love hearing YES), SOUND EXCITED AND INTERESTED, and of course, NEVER give out your details like credit card numbers etc. Remember that their motive is to make money, let’s make it take a long time (like when h*ll freezes over) before they can make money.
Once I spoke with a credit card solicitor (lower interest rates on your card...) for 20 minutes. Whenever the guy said something, I asked him 3 questions getting him to explain. Sometimes, as he was speaking, I would speak at the same time, getting him to repeat himself. It took about 4 attempts for him to correctly (haha) write down my name. When the time came to give him my credit card number, I told him that I couldn’t possible give that number over the phone.
Youtube has some examples of this, go search there for some examples to get you prepared for the phone calls

  191. I told them the Bankruptcy court took all my credit cards and could I just pick up the tickets at the dock and I'll pay cash. She hung up on me.

  192. they just want you to give them your credit card number over the phone for the two $59 "port fees" and then everything else is free. Yeah, if you are stupid enough to give out your credit card number over the phone to someone (and mine could barely speak English), I guess you deserve to lose everything. Wake up, people! NEVER give out your CC# over the phone unless it is a reputable company you have done business with before AND you called them.

  194. I live in NC. Received a call from 603-214-3593. The name says Focus Grp on my caller id. I noticed missed calls from them earlier in the week, but never left a message. I answered the 8 basic questions; age range, septic tank, diabetic, rent or own, pay for presciptions. I was transferred to an operator who asked my name, zip code, and good time for "travel agent" to call me. I asked what company was this associated with and was told Answer Solutions. I asked at what cost would this be to the consumer and he said just for alcohol and any gifts I wanted to buy.......I too am on the do not call registry, but have updated it as of today!

Also just received a call that introduced me to the 8-question survey. At the start of the survey, they told me I would receive a 2-day bahamas cruise and once complete, I would get the appropriate information. At the end of the automated survey, I was transferred to an operator who took down my name, zip and confirmed my phone number. I was then directed to a website at www.surveyclaim.gov ... which does not exist? Now when it tried to find www.surveyclaim.com, that doesn't have the correct link either. Similar to the post on May 18, I was asked about age range, sex, insurance situation, septic or public water, if anyone in my household had diabetes, rent or own and if we take prescriptions. Not sure this is legit!!

  196. I received a call from 406 530 5131 (focus group)telling the same story that if I answer few questions, I will be entitled for a free ticket for a cruise to Bahamas for 2 nights 2 days. I answered the questions and then was told to go to www.surveyclaim.com and enter my phone no to receive a free voucher. I did get one and now waiting for the cruise co-ordinator to call me. I guess he would ask me for my credit card information.

  197. Don't take the survey! It's demographic data-mining, pure and simple. My suspicion is that this information is being sold to pharmaceutical companies. I'll bet they are building a consumer database broken down by location, of who might have significant needs for drugs, and, roughly, what their economic status is. I myself got taken in by this BS. Big Brother knocked, and I opened the door and offered him some pancakes! Sadly, I think this effort is going to work out very well for them.

  198. They just called me too. I answered 8 questions and gave my zip code and phone number. Then I went to surveyclaims.com and gave my email. I knew it was too good to be true and I should have checked it out. They better not call me back or get any of my info!!

  199. They are still at it as of today. I would highly suggest not going to their website. This is totally a scam. New number they are using is: 406-426-3222 AND they call back within 10 minutes if you don't go to their site.

  200. YEah I have the same story as you all. They called this morning from 406-351-4182... Caller ID said "Focus Group", I answered survey questions. Went to their website to correct my info. I went back to alter my info to give them the WRONG info after reading all of your experience. I'd rather pay for a cruise with a legit company rather than feel like I'm being taken advantage of. Also check BBB for info. The below info I found on Imperial Majesty Cruise Lines... associated with SurveyClaim.com... Interesting

    Agency: Attorney Generals Office Florida
Description: On November 5, 2008Attorney General Bill McCollum filed a lawsuit against a Broward County cruise ship company for failing to adequately disclose fuel surcharge fees. According to the lawsuit, Imperial Majesty Cruise Line LLC has collected approximately $4 million in fuel surcharges from late 2006 to present. The company, which offers two-day cruises to the Bahamas, is also accused of falsely representing those fees as governmental taxes or fees.

An investigation conducted by the Attorney General’s Economic Crimes Division determined the company’s web site informs consumers that a “fuel/security” surcharge will be added to their onboard account “…only if (they) have not paid the governmental taxes and fees at the time of booking.” Consumer complaints indicated that when travelers arrived to board the ship they were charged the surcharge, even though it was not, in any way, mandated by any governmental entity. Many consumers first learned of the $20-$30 surcharge only when they arrived to embark on their cruise.

The lawsuit follows agreements reached this spring with other cruise line companies after the Economic Crimes Division received several hundred complaints from around the country about the entire cruise line industry, alleging cruise lines were retroactively charging a fuel supplement charge after cruises had been booked and deposits had been made by consumers. In addition to investigating the manner in which the charges were disclosed, the Attorney General’s Office also looked into whether or not the charges violated an agreement from 1997.

Consumers who have sailed on an Imperial Majesty cruise from October 2006 to present and who feel that they either were not informed of the charge at time of booking or that the charge was misrepresented should contact the Attorney General’s Office. Complaints can be filed online at http://www.myfloridalegal.com or by calling 1-866-966-7226.

As of 11/5/2008 these charges are pending and there has been no finding of guilt.
    Date of Action: 11/5/2008
