SCAM COMPANY
DO NOT use East Coast Star Vanlines. They took our deposit, never showed up, strung us along for 2 days and forced us to pay for our own Uhaul.
Beyond upset and already made the stress of a move even more stressful.

On the day of my delivery, mover pushes back window. I had planned my entire schedule around being available between their window and the mover calls saying there is nothing he can do because he has a customer who refuses to pay.
Colonial Van Lines has contracted this out to a secondary moving agency, who are incredibly unhelpful (East Coast Van Lines). East Coast Van Lines has a 2/5 rating and several Better Business Bureau Complaints.

The review I put in last year is gone. Don't know how they did it. But in no way should you use these guys for a cross country move. They say anything to get your deposit.
They did the "Home Visual" assessment and gave a price.
Then once loaded demanded more money.
2 Days late
Used rental trucks and they were too small
Deliver whenever they want.
There are several folks but the biggest liar of all is a guy named Joe/Joey
Run like the wind!

This was the "MOVE FROM HELL".
Damaged and broken items and that the movers unpacked the truck and left all of my belongings out on the curb when they were supposed to bring the items inside the house and up the stairs.
I even showed the driver a copy of the contract. Section1 "Whats include in your Move" #6. It clearly states "Any stairs inside the residence". I also confirmed this with Alan Katz when I booked the move because I had to pay an additional $64.35 on pickup because the stairs at that location were "OUTSIDE" the residence.
I will provide a little background.
I let the driver see a copy of the contract. Look at section 1 "Whats include in your Move" #6. It clearly states "Any stairs inside the residence". I also confirmed this with Alan Katz when I booked the move because I had to pay an additional $64.35 on pickup because the stairs at that location were "OUTSIDE" the residence.
I hired Budget Van Lines to do my move on March 3, 2020. The first charge of $195.00 to book the job and hold my move date of 6/20/20.
On 6/15/20 Budget Van Lines charged another $485.04
On 6/20/20 East Coast Van Lines shows up to take my boxes and other stuff and charges $727.55.
On 7/7/20 East Coast Van Lines delivers my things. But before I can even look at my things I have to pay the driver (who stuck of liquor) in CASH $727.75. So I pay him and he opens the back of the truck and I see the truck packed from floor to ceiling bin on top of bin. Crushed bins clearly marked fragile on the bottom. The bicycles all scratched up and mangled. Some of the items broken and destroyed are collectables and were very expensive.
They start to unload my belongings and leave it on the curb. I inform them that the bins and boxes etc. need to be brought in the house. The driver tells me he is not bringing the items in and is leaving them there. I IMMEDIATELY call the office and noone answers. I call back 2 more times and still it goes to voicemail where I continue to leave my third message informing the it is URGENT I speak to someone concerning my move. I still haven't heard from anyone nor do I expect I ever will.
Anyway, I show the driver my contract which clearly states they are to bring the items into the house and up the stairs. He refuses. He says that is not his contract. What does that even mean. There is only 1 contract?
Upon further inspection I discover we are missing 2 bins/boxes. The driver informs me in his smug tone that he brought everything that was loaded and that he doesn't load the truck and that if I have a problem to call the company. I said is this the same company that I just called 3 times and doesn't answer the phone? This guy is a first class arrogant jerk.
So what can I do. I am disgusted and angry. I have been duped and have to move EVERYTHING into the house and up the stairs by myself in 113 degree weather in Arizona. Look, I am 55 years old and hired a moving company because I am not capable of doing this type of work anymore.
In Conclusion, DON'T use either of these companys (Budget Van Lines or East Coast Van Lines) so we make sure these thieves don't get away with this again.

This company is one big company who works under many alias' and they are awful. My stuff was lost and broken... they took more money and disappeared ... no insurance policy... all crooks... aka east coast movers, finest movers... do not hire any of these "companies "

it should be 0 stars. i had a horrible experience with this company. they lie. they delivered 2 weeks late, late at night, had to move a load off to get my load unloaded at 11 pm. there was damaged, filed a claim, with a return receipt to ensure they got it, of course, they didn't. filed with better business bureau and they lied to them as well saying they were waiting for me to accept the claim letter before mailing check.
beware. run, run, run as fast as you can. they are terribly unprofessional. once they have your money, you can't reach them.
Brian J. 10/19/2015 1 Star
AVOID THIS COMPANY! They are extremely rude and unprofessional! I'll also be contacting the better business bureau! I purchased a living social voucher which they did not honor and basically told me to call living social and get a refund because the amount of work they have to do is way more than what I purchased. I live in a small condo in a high rise WITH an elevator. A couch, a bed, 2 flat screens televisions were all that needed to be moved! I'm still baffled at the 5 hours of work that Scott Bishop claimed I needed! Horrible company and ethics. COMPLETE rip-offs!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marc R. 8/19/2014 1 star
If you like to get insulted and ripped off hire this company. Don't buy coupons as they don't honor the coupon saying that overhead still needs to be paid for such as gas, taxes, etc. Simply not a business that stands behind its word.
Chris R. 8/12/2014 1 Star
Awful, hidden costs, living social deal means nothing to them. Man on the phone was extremely rude and unprofessional. Do not recommend using them. Email living social they will refund you on the spot.
Valerie N. 4/12/2014 1 Star
I have a very tiny amount of belongings. I have one couch, one chair, one bed and a couple boxes. I live in a tiny condo and am moving into a studio. I had the $100 living social coupon that covered two hours of moving, with two movers, and a 26 foot truck. My last move only took 15 minutes for the company to load, 15 minutes for them to unload and plus driving time- since I am moving a very short distance, it should all be able to be done in under an hour - much under the 2 hours available for the coupon. I live on the ground floor and am moving to a 2nd floor unit. He said he would charge me 200 on top of the living social ($300 total) for the move because they have to go up one flight of stairs. Really? $200 up-charge for one flight of stairs - I think it is especially insane because I had to list all of my items so he knows I have a very small amount of things to move. I asked why there was an extra charge of $200. He said that because there is a flight of stairs, he will need a third mover. That's nuts since the last move only used two guys. AND the living social fine print says that if I want to hire a third guy, then there is a $100 charge, not $200. I will be hiring El Cheapo movers to do my next move again and suggest any yelpers also consider them or someone besides East Coast Van Lines.
Makenzie S. 5/15/2014 1 Star
This company is unbelievably rude and unprofessional. They had me fill out their online form and then told me that I needed 3 men and 5 hours, and the groupon is for 2 men and 4 hours. He said this would cost an additional $500 ON TOP OF THE GROUPON for an extra hour and man, when the 4 hours is only $480 to start without the groupon. Then he said there would be a $75 fuel charge, when the groupon clearly says there is no fuel charge within Broward County. I told him there's no way it should cost $775 to move a 3 bedroom apartment 1/4 mile away, and he said he was the professional, I didn't know what I was talking about, and I hadn't gotten any other quotes. I did get other quotes, and he basically called me a liar. Most rude and unprofessional person and company I have dealt with in a VERY long time, and I am a property manager, so I deal with these sorts of companies on a daily basis. Unacceptable.

The price was good and I had them give me a fixed rate which I found is less frustrating. They were several hours late and the profanity from the team leader was worse than a sailors. The good news is nothing was broken or missing and they were very careful.

We had an estimate on Thursday, July 7, 2005. The estimate was done by Dan Janowitz. Dan claimed to be the owner's uncle and explained that your company was very professional. He told us that they do not sub-contract the jobs out to other companies and use all of thier own men. He also told us that all of our furniture would be pad-wrapped to prevent damage. He explained that they would be bringing 7 wardrobe boxes for clothing and shoes. The total cost of the move was $690.00.
He stated that there would be three men and one truck. About a week later we gave Dan a deposit of $100.00 for our move on Friday, July 29th, 2005. He told us that the movers would arrive between 8:30 and 9:30 am to begin the job. This was important to us since we were closing on the property that morning and the new owner needed to move in that afternoon. Dan assured us that this would not be a problem.
On the morning of July 29, 2005, the movers arrived at 12:15pm. They were about 3 hours late. There were not three men, instead only two, even though we did pay for three (this is listed on the contract). They did not arrive in an East Coast Van Lines truck and explained that the job was contracted to them. I believe the name on the Van was "All Pro Van Lines". We were soon to find out that these guys were anything but "All Pro". Before the job began, we reviewed the contract and I gave them my check number and credit card information to begin the job. We had all of our boxes in the living room to make things easier for them.
My father was also present during the move. The move was taking very long. The new owner was calling me waiting to move in. The buyer's realtor came over checking to see what was going on. After this, my family started helping them load the things onto the truck. The truck was finally full and not everything fit on the truck. We would have to come back for some things. Part of the reason everything did not fit was that the packing of the truck was terrible.
They were not pad-wrapping our furniture and things were getting damaged and scratched. They were even dragging some of our furniture on the ground instead of lifting it. Since there were no wardrobe boxes as promised, we had to carry all of our clothing down to our cars to move it. We called Dan's cell phone and he did answer (one time), we explained what was going on and he said he would contact the moving men. The men did not ever hear from Dan and said they did not even know who he was.
Then, after the truck was full one of the men, Frank Marin, said that he had a family emergency. I am not sure if this was true, but if so, you think that they would send another mover to help finish the job. This man wanted to take the truck with all of our belongings in it to Miami, supposedly to see his sick daughter in the hospital. We have heard horror stories about movers and did not want our things going to Miami, maybe never to be seen again.
We called Dan several times and he would not pick up his cell phone anymore. He then turned the cell phone off and it was going straight to voice mail. We could not get in touch with him at all. Bill even offered to drive Frank to the hospital to see his daughter. He did not take us up on that offer. He said he would finish the job. So, we started over to the new house. They proceeded to stop at McDonalds for food. Then we followed them to the house. That is when they did not want to unload the truck and wanted to leave. We had to call the Sheriff's department. The Sheriff's said that if they were going to leave the truck locked up at the new residence, then that would be ok. But we still needed to get the rest of our things out of the old house so that the new owner could move in.
Finally, Frank agreed to unload part of the truck to go get the rest of our things. We went back to the old house and a girl showed up in a car. Both of the men were in the car talking to the girl for a very long time, while we moved furniture. Finally, they helped finish loading and we went back to the new house to unload, or so we thought. When we got to our new place they refused to unload the truck. We called East Coast Van Lines and talked to Allen who said he was a manager and that he would not get involved. When we said that we would be filing a complaint, Allen threatened to sue us for defamation of character.
The men locked the truck and went home with the girl in the car. They said that they would be back at 9:00 the next morning, Saturday, July 30th. Frank also informed us that because of all the problems, we needed to pay in cash the next day.
The next day came and we waited and waited for the movers to show. Finally at 12 noon, they arrived, again 3 hours late. They quickly unloaded the truck and we paid cash before the truck was empty, like they required us to. I had Frank sign on every page of the contract that we did pay the balance of $590.00 in cash.
I have never seen such unprofessional people. This move was an absolute nightmare. We have many pieces of furniture that were damaged. We have headboard that has a chunk out of it, a scratched aquarium stand, a broken desk drawer, a ripped sofa, a damaged dresser, a scratched coffee table, a scratched desk, a television with a chuck out of the top and a scratched dining room table. The coffee table was so damaged and scratched that we had to replace it. I have included the invoice. I have also included pictures of the damaged items. I do not have pictures of the coffee table since at the time I did not think about it and threw it away.
We have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I have never seen such an unprofessional company. We paid this company so we would not have to move things ourselves. We both ended up moving things out to the truck along with my father. We even moved things in our cars. I wish that we had never hired this company and I would never recommend this company to anyone. The truck was not unloaded the same day as promised, there were two men when we paid for three, we helped move things, there were not wardrobe boxes as promised, and we have several damaged items.
We reported East Coast Van Lines to the Better Buisness Bureau and Florida Dept. of Transportation. The Better Buisness Bureau contacted East Coast Van Lines and they sent a response that they are the "broker" not the "carrier". They say that the carrier is "East Coast Relocation", what a similarity. The funny thing is that the manager at both locations is the same person. East Coast Van Lines claims that they have not responsability in this matter and that we should contact East Coast Relocation. We wrote a certified letter to East Coast Relocation explaining everything that happened during our move and sent pictures of our damaged items. They have received the letter and we are waiting for a response
I posted a report on this company on www.ripoffreport.com and got a reply that East Coast Van Lines has another related company called East Coast Relocation, one of these companies is not licensed to move. Here was the reply I got back from RipOffReport:
If East Coast Van Lines hired East Coast Relocation to perform your move, then they've got bigger problems. There is no such incorporated or licensed company in FL under the name of ECR. So ECVL just admitted to hiring an unlicensed and uninsured mover to perform your move, and will have to answer to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Unless, of course, they are hiding behind the little technicality of a different MC license number. Here's what there is:
If you go to safersys.org and click "License & Insruance", you can input the DOT number of 1094759. See, there's two companies there. The first one, with MC number 472813, is East Coast Van Lines, broker. The second one, with MC number 498831, is East Coast Van Lines, Doing-Business-As V.I.P Moving & Storage. This company is licensed to actually run trucks on the road and perform moves.
East Coast Van Lines responded to my posting of this information saying that it is untrue and they were going to sue me for slander. Nothing I said was untrue. This is really what happened.
I did get a check from them for $25.00. WOW! I did not cash it since it is not a fair offer...the move was $690.00! I have since filed a report with the Attorney Generals Office.

Total money lost $1,500
Type of a scam Moving
This is the worst moving company ever. They first quote you by taking inventory off all you want to move to give you a more adequate quote. They then underquote you so you do your deposit. They sell you that it is a full service move with disassembly and assembly included and that on the day of the move they will send you proof of weight to justify amount. Day of the move movers come and are totally unprofessional. They start telling you that disassembly is extra and they won't do it. After email showing it was included they bregudently do it. In the process the one mover doesnt speak a word of English and is wearing sandals. Another mover is constantly complaining and swearing at the other movers. In the disassembly they wreaked some furniture. In the packing of the truck did not use any of the protective equipment for our furniture as it caused rips in our leather couches. While on route I get a call saying the total will be 3 times more then quoted. In this call I was given 3 diffrent amounts until I asked for it in writing. Never sent me proof just a text with the total and that they will keep our stuff until we pay. Payment ungrudgedly made. Movers arrive an hour later. When they arrive they said they would not assemble the furniture they disassembled. Unknown to me this was because they had broken some furniture already. Through this whole time the office was not responding to phone calls, texts or emails. They were very responsive until payment was made. After a very rough ordeal movers completely damaged the new house putting holes in the drywall and scratches all over walls, door frames and window frames. It has been 7 days still have no detailed receipt. This company are scam artists and should not take anymore business. Not professional at all!

First of all they showed up two hours late and my building requires me to book the elevator at specific times. They refused to disassemble my bed frame even though it was in the contract when i tried to reason with them and give them all the tools they needed (one allen key one screwdriver) they told me to do it! So they left it and they did not put my dining room table together upon arrival even though that was also in the contract. The office lady called me for payment and I explained the situation and she told me she would talk to them after i paid. Evidently she did not. The whole time i felt like i was being robbed, they charged $1400 after quoting $560 *update* just plugged in my tv and the screen is cracked and a big black stripe runs down one side

Long-distance move from Park Rapids, MN to Waynesburg, PA
Taken Advantage Of
Grievances
1. AFTER packing up the the truck, they told us the cost went up $1200
2. TARDY - they were very late and didn't leave until almost 10PM
3. COMMUNICATION - no one called to tell us they were going to be late
4. LIED - I was told they did not use subcontractors, they DO
5. I felt TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF
See details below:
1. The quote we were given by Safebound did not match the actual cost. Here are the reasons:
- Gas Surcharge of $262.50 (10%)
- Safebound counted 45 items during the video call, the movers counted 59
Examples - Safebound counted the following as one item, the movers counted these as multiple items: bed and box spring (1 to 2), couch (1 to 3), Bed (2 to 5), Egg Chair (1 to 3)... the egg chair they also took the cushions off instead of wrapping them up in the chair (as if they would break?), packed them into a box, charged $65.00 for the box and $15.00 to pack them into the box. Many items that safebound listed as one, the movers charged for multiple parts even though the safebound agent could easily see everything during the video call, I wasn't hiding anything in my closet.
- I bought 2 mattress covers from walmart for $5.00, no one told me that the box spring needed a mattress cover too, so they charged an extra $30 for that.
- Repacking boxes. They started ripping off tape and redoing our packing EVEN AFTER I ASKED THEM TO STOP. For example, they repacked a box of pillows from walmart, probably worth $10, put it in a $65.00 box and charged $15.00 for doing so. I explained to them that the contents in the box were cheap and I didn't want it repacked. They said, "It's company policy, I have to." HELLO, I'm the customer. Does that mean nothing?
Packing Materials Total = $506.00
Packing Labor Total = $235.00
2. They told my sister and I that they would arrive between 11AM and 3PM. We called at 3:00 because no one showed up or called us. Safebound said they were running late from their last job; however, when they arrived, they told us Safebound actually sent them to the wrong city. I'm also wondering if this is part of the reason for the fuel surcharge of $262.50.
3. I took off another star for poor communication. There is no reason they couldn't communicate that they were running 2 hours behind schedule. We planned our day around THEIR selected time frame. It takes 2 minutes to call and say, "expect us at 5:00 instead."
4. I chose this company in part because they explicitly told me that they do not use subcontractors. They DO. I have it in writing as I confirmed this via text message with the gentlemen who delivered my furniture and wrote, "from Falcon movers...they contract us."
5. I am most upset about the fact that the movers waited until they packed everything up in the truck, it's almost 10PM, and the office is closed, to tell us the cost was $1200 more than the estimate. If they had told me at the beginning the price would be more, I'd have put more things in my car and some things (Like the pillows from walmart, it'd have been more economical to toss them in the dumpster than pay 8X what they were worth for the darned box. When I questioned the price, they told me it was too late because they already put everything in the truck. I couldn't call the office because they were late, it was 10 PM and the office was closed. I said I didn't feel comfortable signing and they bullied me into it by saying it was illegal for them to move my stuff in the truck without ALL the papers being signed. I learned later, movers are supposed to tell you those costs and have you sign BEFORE they pack it all up.
Left garbage for us to clean up. Pictures attached. Safebound addressed this complaint by talking with the movers that left the trash.
To their credit...
Upon receiving my letter of complaints, they retracted the $235.00 for packing labor because the contract had stated they don't charge for labor.

WORST movers ever!!!! If I could give minus 5 stars that's too many! Tripled price, broke goods, sucked, one mover had BIG TIME attitude, paid for assembling and just upped and left, probably because of broken and damaged goods. Won't give breakdown on reciept, got lied to over and over, they are scam artists and don't know how they can live with themselves, especially scamming people with disabilities, shame on you, I sincerely hope your business ends and soon so others do not have to go through what I went through.

Long-distance move from Arnprior, ON to Greenwood, NS
Disappointed and sick, can't sleep part one
Initially I had asked for a move date of Dec 14, however I was told it wasn't a great day because they wouldn't be able to start until approximately 3 pm that day and that just wasn't a great time to start loading. I appreciated that and we arranged to do our move on Dec 12. Dec 11 comes around and I get the call from the scheduling department to let me know my time was set for 4-5 pm. I was surprised as I was already told 3 pm was too late to start, so why would we start between 4-5? I got the call at 3:30 pm on the 12th from the movers to let me know they were actually going to be at my place by 6 pm. Turns out 'in the area' according to the booking team meant Montreal which is 3 hours away from where I live. The movers ended up being late to the storage unit I paid for them to stop at, arriving there to start loading at approximately 6:45 pm. We led them back to the house and they were starting to load the house by around 8:30 pm.
I knew we were in for a long night and ended up tagging my own belongings to try and help move things along. At one point, the older gentleman who did not speak very good English explained that he was going to need a wardrobe box, and asked me if he could use one. Sure, if you have to. Nobody told me it was $45 plus tax for each box. They used 3. The items in the boxes aren't even worth that. They wrapped my furniture in bubble wrap, mattress bags and a few blankets. I was impressed, I had assumed it would all be blankets. I wrote to the company at 11:59 pm on the 12th to complain about the scheduling as I was exhausted and starting to get upset, but raved about how careful the movers were being. This is important later.
By 1:30 am, we had moved outside to pack the items from the shed onto the truck. The movers had told me everything wouldn't fit and I'd have to decide 'what I can live with not having' on the other end and told me whoever had done the estimate at the office didn't know what they were doing when they did it. I was upset, indicated a few items that I would have to leave and then reminded them that I actually sold a few things from my inventory sheet before they arrived so they weren't even moving everything I said I was when they did the estimate so I wasn't sure what the issue was.

Do not use this moving company I was quoted $500.00 and once all of my items were on truck they wouldn't move to new address until I signed and payed via e transfer. They said it was 6000 lbs but had no scale and if I wanted actual weight we had to drive 50 minutes away and I had to pay for mileage as well . Final cost $2500 and I had no furniture at all just boxes. Absolutely disgusting they took advantage when I was in time crunch and they knew it too. Do not sign without reading fine print. A total scam

Long-distance move from Ontario to Nova Scotia
Disappointing delivery
I booked them for moving 1 bedroom apartment from London Ontario to glacé bay Nova Scotia. My stuff dint weigh what they told me and gave no reference for the scaling fee or the proof for charging me what they took. I asked for breakdown of invoice and haven't got it till now. Through pictures and excel sheet I was given an estimate of 1000lbs which is what it was around. But because I asked them for 2500lbs maximum so the person who came literally forced me to write 2500lbs for flat rate but when I dint write he made sure that the invoice will be according to 2500lbs. I don't agree to that. Also because my apartment was on 2nd floor with total of 21 stairs they asked for 300$ and I refused to it and put all my stuff down on my own and they dint even help me at all and asked me to pay $2300 with no proper invoice saying if I need my stuff on time I need to pay before 5pm. I paid it thinking they will be efficient and good. When I booked them they said it will be 5-7 days so I planned my trip accordingly. On my way here the driver kept calling me saying I need to be there as they are reaching early and then I asked someone to get it delivered on my behalf where they forgot to drop half of my stuff asked me to pick it 300 kms from where it was suppose to come to which I denied as it wouldn't fit in my car and I dint pay to pick it up on my own And I have been calling them everyday since then (been 10 days now). They pick my call up after trying it for about 40-45 times and then they keep sending me back and forth from sales to accounting and don't reply to mails too. I have no clue where my stuff is and if I'll be getting it or not. It has my medicines and my work stuff and kitchen stuff but they just don't care as all they wanted was money. I wouldn't recommend their services to anyone. Sales team will act very sweet and friendly offering discount but you will get a high amount invoice with no breakdown at all and then accounting team will be super rude and not helpful at all. I wasted my money And my stuff because of them. 0 stars for their services. Their quote amount will not match their actual amount.

Move cancelled by Safe Bound Moving with less than 24 hour notice
I was very disappointed to receive a call less than 24 hours before my mom's move from your company cancelling the move.
After multiple emails over the course of the past few weeks and confirmation 2 days before the move, I was shocked to be called the day before the move and told that the date we had selected was not possible.
I was given no other solution than to reschedule the move.
I flew in from Calgary to Montreal for the weekend to move my elderly mother from an assisted living home to a long term nursing home.
I personally paid to have a COVID test prior to the move for myself and my mother and I obtained special permission from both homes to enter the homes to pack and unpack.
I chose your company over others as you offered vaccinated movers. It was challenging enough to coordinate a move between nursing homes during COVID without the movers cancelling with less than 24 hours.
I found myself scrambling to find a new mover while packing and taking care of my elderly dependent mother.
I found Mark, your caller, unprofessional and completely lacking in empathy of our situation. The only solution that was offered was changing the date of the move which was not possible.
I did not receive an email from you or Safe Bound Moving apologizing and confirming a reimbursement of our deposit.
I am appalled at how we were treated.
I emailed Lauren, my contact, 2 days ago and have as yet received no reply, no apology and no refund of our $200 deposit.

Worst move ever
I would love to be able to write a positive review for Safe Bound Moving but alas our experience was anything but!!
To top it all off they were unable to complete our move and refused to refund our deposit.
We should have realized from our initial contact with Safe Bound that it would turn into a disaster and time wasted by 3 parties with no apologies from Safe Bound! We re-booked multiple times.
When we booked with them they were unable to process our credit card or email us a copy of our contract. We never did receive a copy of the contract. They told us they would call to confirm our pick up time(s) however on each occasion we had to contact them. In many instances there was no answer and we were unable to leave voicemails as their mail box was full. When someone did pick up the phone we were told our time "looked good".
April 29 - Initial contact made with Safe Bound Moving, appointment booked for noon pick up on May 7. Said they would confirm by 3:30 PM May 6
May 7 - 9:50 AM finally rec'd notification that p/u would be between 2 and 5
3:20 PM - rec'd call that the crew was running late and would be unable to arrive at p/u prior to 5 PM
Individual, who had been waiting all day had to leave for work at 5:30
Notified Safe Bound office of this and was assigned May 12; was told the move would happen before noon; time was suitable to person at p/u
May 12 - Safe Bound vehicle needed repairs and could not complete pick up
Safe Bound arbitrarily assigned May 15. That date was unsuitable for the individual at the pick-up point
Safe Bound was advised immediately that May 15 was not suitable and May 19 was arranged as the pick-up date with a guaranteed AM pick up
May 19 - Safe Bound changed the pick-up time to between 3-5 PM. That was agreeable for all parties.
8 PM - call received that Safe Bound vehicle had suffered another breakdown and would not arrive until 11 PM or later. We had no option but to complete our move with someone else. Safe Bound refused to refund our deposit.
May 20 - I contacted Universe Moving in Ottawa and they were able to complete our move within days without a hitch!!

THIS COULD BE YOUR BIGGEST MOVING MISTAKE
Safebound moving is a BIG SCAM. My recent experience with my move from one condo building to another in downtown Toronto: Movers delayed moving by 10 hours, all my service elevator bookings expired, they loaded all the stuff and started harassing me for more money or they would take the truck away. I ended up paying three times the amount that was quoted. They refused to weigh the stuff and decided to charge me extra weight for stuff in a studio apartment. I moved all the small stuff inmy car.
Do not get duped by these people. They will hook you in with a low quote and hold you and your stuff unless you pay what they ask for. after paying interac, once the truck got loaded. They asked me to wait 2 hours. These fraudsters then forced me to make a trip to the ATM and pay them cash.
I ended my move at 11:30pm in the night when I booked these movers for Noon to 3 pm in afternoon. They arrived at 7pm. They did not take any of my calls or give any update on what is going on. They just want you to pay them the deposit in advance and then cheat you later.
I wish they have decency to return my money. The experience unfortunately cannot be undone.
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.

Long-distance move from Mississauga, ON to Halifax, NS
Horrible People, Poor Business Practices
From the time we contacted SBM - up until our $200 deposit - everything went fine.
The day of the move - my brother and I had moved out of our apartments and SBM didn't show up on stipulated pick up time. We didn't get any calls to warn us or give us a heads up. Then we got an email that the 3rd party logistics company they hired to pick our things had their truck break down, but promised to pick up our things before midnight.
Midnight rolled by and no pick up. Next morning was a saturday and SBM office is open until 1 pm. We frantically kept calling but didn't get a single pickup and no response.
Later in afternoon we got a call from the warehouse manager offering us $100 discount with a promise to pick up our things in a 1 hour window. We asked for some time to coordinate on our end and then call back to confirm - kept calling but no pick up no response.
Sunday and Monday a holiday. Our landlord getting furious that our things still in the apartment. We had to hire a truck rental and move everything in a friend's garage for the time being.
Overall - SBM is pathetic. They don't provide a heads up, they don't keep their commitments, they don't business support after 5 pm. The call centre folks are middle person who create a bottleneck - they don't know exactly which truck company will do pick up or where the truck is, how things are managed.

Do Not Use - Rip off Artists!!
I hired Safe Bound Moving in March 2021 for my very small relocation from Oshawa, Ontario to Charlottetown, PEI. The quote Safe Bound provided me was for $1185.00. Moving day 2 guys loaded the truck in under 1 hour and my items only filled half a 26ft truck. They waited until the truck was loaded and presented me with documents to sign as they explained, acknowledging that they picked up my items. The header on the documents was Move Me Again, not Safe Bound. They said Safe Bound is the main company with many other companies operating under them. I was presented with 2 ways to pay. I could pay based on their estimate on moving day or pay $40 to have my items scaled. When asked what their estimate was, I was told 5800lbs. I did not even have 2000lbs let alone 5800lbs. I asked them to get the load weighed. They promptly left to which I assume they were heading to the scale. I received an invoice 3 days later and was charged $3418 for a weight of 5780lbs. I called for proof of weight according to what I was charged and they could not provide scale ticket. I was told me if I didn't pay I would not receive my stuff and I would be charge $120/day to store it until payment received. They cleaned me out $ as a single mom. Filed a claim, many emails sent, no response. No scale ticket ever received. Now I have legal counsel involved and the BBB. I will not let them get away with this!

WARNING - This Company Will Pirate your items
Please, for your own sake, do not use them. And beware, they operate under many names. See links to reviews and hardships real people have faced at the end of this review.
They will be very nice at first. They will pick up your stuff on time. Then the lying begins.
They will promise that your goods will arrive quickly (they will not). The company will not answer the phone, all mailboxes will be full, the names they give you are not correct (you will never get a last name), they will tell you their truck broke down, you will be passed from Accounting, to Dispatch, to Sales…..you will not be told the truth by any of them.
Most likely, they will subcontract the work to their related company, Move Me Again, another scam (look them up too).
How they scam you – they inflate the quoted weight and hold your items for ransom.
Once invoice/ransom is paid, you will have two guys deliver your goods, they will not make it up a staircase unless you pay more, fragile is not in their vocabulary, they may deliver goods that are not even yours (just as your items may have been delivered to someone else). We have learned a valuable lesson to make sure we research the company – don't go by reviews as most have been added by Safe Bound Storage. Please beware.

Terrible, worst company I have used
The pick up went smooth although the drivers' attitude were not so good.
He let us sign the contract without saying anything, then after loading the truck 3 days, the company called us and said the price increased from $1000 to $2100 due to the increase in weight. We told them to check again, we can pay the fee but they denied. Because we signed on the contract (without knowing it), we have to agree to pay otherwise they will throw our stuffs away. At this moment, we have already been in Halifax.
After more than 2 WEEKS of waiting the truck, they BLOCK our contact so I have to borrow friend's phone to contact them but still can not talk with office workers. The number on the website is the sale department, and they told us to call later.
Until this point, we have not received our stuffs, we have already paid $2100, and can not contact with driver or office worker.
I will work with police if they won't deliver my stuffs next week (3 weeks since pick up day).
This is the WORSE company that you can hired, you dont get what you paid for, and they already have a lot of bad reviews before (I did not know that when I signed the contract with them)

Total Scam
I moved from Toronto to Haliburton County with Roadway, prior to pickup they were very responsive but come moving day my experiences were Terrible. Firstly the movers refused to put on masks while packing the truck. After asking four times, the mover finally put a mask over his mouth though left his nose hanging out... I tried speaking to their customer service to complain but the phone just kept ringing and ringing. After getting through after a few tries, their customer service rep tried to justify that the movers didn't need to wear masks because it wasn't a public space, and that the movers couldn't breathe while wearing a mask... The weight of my goods also mysteriously more than doubled since I last moved, surprising as the only thing I piece of furniture I had purchased in between my moves was a bed. I can't stress enough how bad my experience has been, it's now 3 months later and I'm still waiting for a receipt. I've emailed three times for it and yet nothing... STAY AWAY.

Horror Moving Company
The sales rep was really nice, gave us a couple of discounts, removed the scale fee, etc.
Then after the deposit, the horror started. They put off the date of the move multiple times, a list and photos of things were supplied, but they actual weight was twice the estimate. They charged me a fee for having more weight. They charged for the piano, and refused to deliver it. When I paid, I couldn't get ahold of them after and they delivered it days after it was supposed to arrive and charged warehouse fees. The delivery guys tried to charge more for delivery and refused to bring my stuff into the house. None of the furniture was wrapped, every single piece of furniture had gouges and broken pieces out of it.
I got someone else's stuff, and am missing parts of my stuff. The insurance they provided has a $500 deductible and only pays $.60 per pound. They completely ruined my table set (lost a table leg somehow?), shelf (broken shelves and rickety), and desk(put someone's tools on it and broke the opening mechanism) so they are unusable and I won't get any money back for it.
Go anywhere else, this place is a scam and so very stressful.

Terrible.
I think it is the time to write review for this terrible company in order no more people go for it.
The pick up went smooth (this is the only good thing).
But, they do not have a schedule for delivering the items. My problem with them is that they do not have a determined date to deliver my items.
As far as I understand, they are a small company under the name of a bigger company named Move me again.
Since they are small company, they do not have enough trucks and people to deliver the items.
After one week giving them my destination address, they have not delivered my items and they do not tell me an date to deliver my stuff (Although when I called and asked for the quote they said that they will deliver my items whenever I give them the destination address).
They answer your call before the contract and after that they do not care anymore.
Their excuse is that they're busy, and they will ship the truck ASAP.
As a moving company they should have a schedule, but they do not.
I hope I receive my items very soon(one day in this week) otherwise I will ask my lawyer go through it.
In one word : Do not chose this company.

Terrible attendance.
I had and continue to have a bad service from the RoadWay Company. I had registered on a budget website for furniture transportation. When they called me, the seller was very attentive, answered all the questions I needed. The seller convinced me that I could choose weight by estimate instead of contracting the official weight by the government scale. He said it would be a lot cheaper. Alas, the problems have already started with the removal of the furniture. I had a 2 hour lift in the building, and the driver arrived 1:45 am late. Stress has already started with the building staff. In the end he asked me to sign a form with a mom of fields charged values without letting me even read. I can still challenge some values, but he always told me that what was agreed with the Seller would be worth. After removing the furniture, I called and sent e-mail almost daily and they never sent me the amount to pay, even if I asked several times. As I already knew that there were problems with some carriers in Toronto, I had weighed everything I had transported. Given the budget that was given to me and the weight that I had that was approximately 2685 pounds, it should have been the approximate amount of CA $ 1600.00. I should deposit the amount of CA $ 3847.07 in one hour, otherwise I would not send my furniture. I disputed the amount, I said it was way above what they gave me. She told me that I had signed a field that agreed with the estimated weight calculated by the eyes of the motorite, which would be 6061 pounds. But double the correct weight of the furniture. In addition, the copy of the contract that the driver left with me, the weight was blank, so I don't know how he pasted that amount. After much discussion, they threatened me to raise another $ 1000.00 fine because they had already put the furniture in the truck and would have to remove everything again. In order not to have any more problems with values, I requested the same one to send me the order for payment with a credit card, since the contract had the card as a form of payment. She said she was not receiving with the card that it was only with a transfer. I challenged it again, because I had to fulfill the contract in respect of the weight they invested and they did not have to comply with the card. But I ended up paying not to create more friction. I asked the company several times for a detailed list of what they would be charging me. They always shy away and never answered my emails. The other day, but calm, decide to do the calculations of how much you should pay even with the weight they put on. And to my surprise, the amount that I should pay even with the wrong weight, according to the contract, would be CA $ 3125.52. I do not recommend this company to anyone, they do everything to deceive you. There could be 0 star option. This company doesn't even deserve one.

Estimated cost was 7 thousand. The end price was 13,500 That was the best part of this. The movers broke things and said that they were already broken. They demanded cash because there were stairs. Sent a bill for 10,900. then told me that wasn't tax included days later. They were supposed to come the following day and pick up the remainder of things and didn't show up. I had to leave things behind. They then tell me that there is a holding fee if I can't come up with every penny before the drop off. Well night before delivery was to take place i had to come up with $2300...cash!!! Apparently i agreed to pay for a 5000lb load...i DID NOT. No charges are explained, they refuse to give you an invoice or any kind of document that shows what your charges are for. The "accounting woman" is a pitbull, called me a liar several times when in fact she lied to me several times...i can pay by credit card oh no machines are broken you need cash....you signed at the time of pick up when the movers weighed your weight...um nope no scales...apparently they send pictures and the "accounting girl" comes up with a flat rate...which is $2700 for some antique wooden chairs and tables. Upon inspecting my furniture it looks like rats or mice were running over everything like not one scratch but covered in scratches...and looks like table legs have been chewed!

As we approach the end of the month just a friendly reminder to NOT use this company for your move. DON'T DO IT!!!
If you have an upcoming move DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY or any company affiliated (Roadway Moving) with them. Don't let any of these positive reviews fool you! They don't act with care, they aren't professional, they aren't organized - they're actually the furthest thing from it. All of the negative reviews that are on here are 100% true. Go with a reputable moving company. Don't make the same mistake that others have!

Do not use this company!!!! They are lairs, and thieves. They held my items ransom even after payment was received. They were a week late (in a pandemic) after quoting me delivery date. Lost over $5000 worth of items. Had to call police on driver cause wouldn't unload until I paid more money not quoted in original quote
Do yourself a favour do not use them unless you like getting f@"ked and scammed

The damage to one side of the bookcase in the photo was the least of my troubles - which I didn't bother reporting due to the utter lack of professionalism I had experienced with Move Me Again.
Issues:
(1) Charged a "warehouse handling fee" and a "scale fee" despite not using their storage service and not having my belongings weighed. The scaling process was clearly explained when I got my quote, but the agent who phoned to inform me of the remaining balance for my move on delivery day told me the fee was determined based on square footage - what?!
(2) The agent who gave me my quote explained that there is a fee for exterior stairs. I clearly described the exterior stairs at the pickup address and was told it would be $100. They ended up charging a $300 stair fee.
(3) I repeatedly asked to see the official invoice for the remaining balance (including the various charges and taxes) before issuing my payment (since it was almost triple what I was quoted!). The agent refused, claiming that the accounting department wasn't open (10am on a Wednesday...) and they will only "issue detailed invoices upon payment" - what she was describing is a receipt - invoices are issued BEFORE the client pays!!! Then the agent threatened to withhold my belongings until I paid - this is ILLEGAL.
(4) I contacted the company twice after the move to get the official receipt for tax purposes - no response, big surprise.
Don't let the chipper phone manner of these crooks fool you

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY TO MOVE YOUR STUFF! They have and are currently scamming people, they are holding our stuff for ransom! All of the positive reviews are fake reviews! They hold your stuff as hostage and demand 16k to get your stuff back. Then, they threaten to break your belongings if you do not pay. Police can't even get involved because it is a civil issue. This is extortion from this company keeping our things in their warehouse. Original quote was 4k, now they increase the price and the threats every day. We will get our lawyers involved. I am writing this review to warn everyone before making the same mistake as I did! Do not trust the fake positive reviews!

I STRONGLY recommend reading reviews from the worst to the best. The best reviews are very misleading and false advertising. When booking Tara seems to be very professional and she is able to answer all questions, removing concerns and anxiety. However, things she states such as address of where your items will be stored with their storage promotion, having access to your things etc. is all false advertising. The movers missed my pick up date and had I not called them I would have not known they were not coming. They said the truck had mechanical issues. They were FIVE days LATE to pick up my items! Upon arriving, I was unable to get any address, access to my things and I found out that the address on my invoice is not their address. I had to do extensive research to identify the owner, his address, the company address etc. If you do end up booking with this company, ensure you have your copy of your paper invoice and a lawyer on hand. Also, ensure that what you agree on your invoice is what you're paying for. When it is time to get your things they will try to overcharge and the only success I had with them listening to me and honouring the invoice, that was signed, was through a lawyer contacting them. Also, beware, they may try to charge additional fees upon delivery. Communication is poor, unprofessional, rude at times and very inconsistent. They are hard to reach via phone. They are more responsive via email but again it is delayed. It took 5 weeks from my things arriving in Toronto to me having them in my possession in another storage unit that I had to rent because I could not trust the company with my things. I had originally opted in for the free 8 weeks storage (which I almost ended up using all of) but I tried to get my things upon arrival until 5 weeks later. I assume they were very lackadaisical with it because I had the storage. However, I was eager and adamant about getting my things out of their possession. The only thing that was positive was the movers were efficient when they finally picked my things up and when they delivered my items. Everything arrived. My furniture had been blanket wrapped so they were well taken care of and arrived with no damage. Some boxes were smashed a little but that's a part of the moving process. I am glad to be done with the anxiety inducing and stress provoking process that I went through. And if you're looking to be compensated for poor service, forget it. They gave me $50 off a $1500+ move. It's a joke. Either way... PROCEED WITH CAUTION and KNOW what you are signing up for BEFORE booking and LAWYER up if you have already booked services with them.

Update on 9/13/2020: The responses of this company in complain forum of the BBB.org is horrible. Below I am giving the third response of company and mine- BBB Complaint Case# 1420560 (Ref#32-1365508-1420560-12-4100)
MoveMeAgain: The customer was given the option of scaling all his belongings customer chose to not proceed with that and move forward with the flat rate.
CN- As I have descried clearly- I was approached for flat rate and I agreed despite I knew I am paying for more lbs, but to avoid any damage of items. Moreover, I have been asking- how did the moving company take unilateral decision of charging me more than the flat showing their double standard? Why was there no option given me for scaling, even after my item was picked at flat rate and later the accounting department FELT that the items were more than 6500 lbs?
MoveMeAgain: Customer is actually told that he cant follow the movers to the scale station if they wish to proceed with scaling there goods.
CN: The statement is vague and doesn't have any meaning- grammatically and syntactically wrong. A baseless statement.
MoveMeAgain: Customer wanted to move forward with the options that avoids any charges, when the flat rate is explained the movers let the custoer know that if they accept the flat rate the scale fee is removed.
CN: This is correct. Despite the charges are more, I agreed to go with flat rate. That is not the concern. The concern is on and above the flat rate why am I being charged extra $960.5 ($850+13%tax). This $960.5 is the dispute.
MoveMeAgain: As previously mentioned a flat rate is non-negotiable.
CN: I am NOT requesting for any REBATE. I have already pointed and as the company mentioned now again- the flat rate is non-negotiable. So if we had agreed flat rate, I should be charged only for 6500 lbs (again I repeat, the driver himself had admitted- I am paying more by accepting flat rate (6500 lbs) but items will be safe), then why am I being charged extra $960.5 ($850+13%tax)?
I am not asking any rebate. This $960.5 is the dispute that I claim to be refunded.
Simple calculation is as below-
6500 lbs x $0.40= $2600
Origin/Destination charge = $100
Sub total = $2700
Tax (13% of 2700)= $351
Total payable = $3,051
Less Discount offered over phone= $100
Less Paid until Jul 31= $2600 (100 advance, 2500 etransfer)
Balance to pay (3051-100-2600)=$351
Per attached invoice and communication, instead of this $351 you forced me to pay $1311.50 threatened over phone (accounts calls from a no-called ID number) that otherwise you will not deliver.
So 1311.50-351= $960.5 is the dispute that I claim to be refunded.
=========================Original======================
I availed the service of MoveMeAgain. After they loaded my stuffs to their truck, I was approached to take flat rate by paying for 6500 lbs, so that the items will not be unloaded and reloaded for weighing and minimizes the chances of being damaged:misplaced. Despite agreeing to this and making proactive payment before a day of scheduled delivery, repeated follow ups to release the invoice for me to make the final payment was NEVER heard. In the morning of the day of delivery, I received the invoice which was inflated and with wrong calculation. Subsequently received a call from Private Number and was asked to pay the said amount that is in invoice which was $1000 extra than it SHOULD be. The lady on the other side of the phone was so rude that she asked "either you pay now and take the delivery, or I will call back the delivery guys who are on the way."
Now what someone can do? Unknown number-no call back option, so I had to pay the said-wrong-inflated amount.
Of course a complain is lodged with Peel Police and BBB.org. Will update on outcome.
Attached photo shows my total stuff just a second before unloading from their truck.

We had requested our shipment be weighed and invoiced accordingly. We had been quoted by them, and about 6 other movers that our contents would be between 6,000 and 8,000 lbs. We though this to be a bit high, but were reassured the scales at the weigh station are accurate, and we would only pay for what our shipment weighed.
When they were done loading the truck on move day, they came to us all concerned that the contents of our 950 sq. ft apartment (without any major appliances included) had totally filled their 26 ft. truck. When their truck is full, the weight is at least 16,500 lbs, and quite possibly quite a bit more. They've never seen it weigh less when it's completely full like that, so they're going to give us a deal and lock it in at 16,500 flat rate. We hesitated for a looong while. We said, a 26 foot truck full of potato chips does not weigh as much as a 26 foot truck full of canned goods or encyclopedias. How could our stuff possibly weigh that much? We had no solid wood furniture, and only a few boxes of books. The heaviest item is a six drawer dresser, probably a maximum of 300 lbs. We had taken many items to our cottage earlier in the season fearing they might be damaged in the move.
After much discussion, we were tired, and we just wanted the day to be over, so we signed off to get them out the door. Off went our belongings to the storage facility.
During the course of the summer, we went over and over each item in our minds, assigning a weight to each one, and being quite generous. No matter how we tried we could not come to more than 8,000 lbs.
5 weeks before the second part of the move was to take place, we called Move Me Again Transportation Inc. and voiced our concerns. We requested that the truck be weighed when it was loaded with our belongings to be delivered to our new home. At first, it sounded like they were agreeable, but there would be a $500 re-weigh fee if they were to do that. We agreed since we were convinced the 16,500 lbs was double the actual weight, and we were willing to take the risk if it happened to weigh more. The person I was talking to said they had to put me on hold, but would not disconnect me. I thought this was a strange thing to say, and sure enough, a few seconds later the line went dead. I immediately called back and got someone else who flat out refused to weigh the shipment, and 'a contract was a contract' good bye!
When the invoice came in, it was $9,078.85 for an 80km move with 4 months of storage (2 months supposedly free) Remember, a 950 sq. ft 2 bedroom apartment, no appliances.
We were aghast. We moved out of our apartment in June, thinking we would stay at the cottage all summer like we normally do, and save the rent for 5 months. Funds for closing costs and 5 appliances since the new home builder would not supply them.
This bill was going to take all of that and leave us with nothing for those other costs. We are pensioners, living on a fixed income, and although money is not tight, it's not exactly growing on the trees out back.
When we requested an itemized invoice, not just a number on a piece of paper, it took repeated calls and 2 weeks to obtain said invoice.
We considered telling them they are now the proud owners of 16,500 lbs of our stuff, and even spoke to our lawyer about it. He gave us some ideas on how to challenge them, but we are ultimately law-abiding citizens, and decided to pay these thieves, and be done with it. We would have to further dip into our life savings to close on the house. Here is a picture of the 'full' 26 foot truck when it arrived at our new home. Does that look full to you? No, half full. Therefore, 8,000 lbs, just as we suspected. Robbers....DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE! I won't even get into how many items were damaged and LOST! They lost the hardware to assemble our bed. Likely still on the floor of the storage facility. Assembling your bed is the first task you must do so you can go to bed that first night. Terrible, terrible moving company. Thieves and robbers.

Note: the majority of reviewers that rate 5 stars have only posted one google review. That means they either work for the company, or they are false accounts (ie it could be just one person posting the reviews). Those that rate 1 star have posted more than one review.
If you want to know about the company, simply google media reports or the Better Business Bureau.

DO NOT USE THEM
They are fraudulent and refuse to work with you. They charged me an extra 3000$ and told me they wouldn't deliver until I paid. They said I signed off on a 5000lbs flat rate. It was conveniently on their copy of the invoice but not mine. I'm not the first they don't it to if you read over reviews. Movers also told me they would leave my couch on the front lawn in the rain because they didn't think it would fit in my door.
Tons of items cane damaged and they scratched my hardwood floors. I've emailed them 4 times about filing a claim and they haven't responded. They phone number is also no longer in service so I think they blocked my number.

Under no circumstances should you hire Move Me Again Transportation. They are a bunch of scheisters who will try to extort as much as they can from you. So that discounted price? Suddenly not much of a discount.
Their MO is to claim that your self-evaluation that you did online weighs much more than the program said it would and so there's a difference that the customer has to pay. But, of course, they provide no proof of this and refuse to go to a weigh station with you to confirm what they're saying. If you don't pay they will just drive everything back to their point of origin and throw everything in storage, even if that means driving halfway across the country.
But now the customer is responsible for storage fees and will likely be billed for this double drive.🙄
There's also the chance that the company will blame a subcontractor, even though you booked through "Move Me Again" and the trucks have the company name. They don't care. They will do anything to pass the buck.
Oh wait, the online reviews are good though so what's going on? Take a good look at those google reviews. The vast majority of the positive reviews are made by people who have NEVER put in any other review. 🤔 Megative reviewers on the other hand tend to have a few more reviews under their belts. Slightly suspicious.
Check their BBB rating. They've even stopped talking to them because so many people were putting in complaints. 🤷♀️
I mean, if you don't mind horrible customer service and extortion, by all means use this company. If you'd prefer NOT having to deal with that, make sure the company you choose to move your belongings is part of the Canadian Movers Association.

Better Business Bureau files indicate a pattern of complaints concerning billing increases, delayed deliveries and customer service issues. Consumers have advised our office that the cost of their move increased substantially from the initial quotes that lead them to enter into a contract. When consumers request an explanation or reduction, they are advised that their items will not be delivered until full payment is remitted. Additionally, consumers have also advised that their items are not delivered on time, and the company does not compensate or advise when their belongings will be returned.

Hired for a long-distance move through O Canada Movers.
Was given wrong information about when the pickup date/time would be comfirmed.
When the truck showed up, the crew lead started telling me about additional charges that were not disclosed in advance and that were not outlined in the documentation I received. Charges for disassembly, for wrapping items, as well as items they said they wouldn't take (a TV of all things).
The additional charges could have amounted to several hundred dollars in increased cost.
The representative at the office admitted that their employee had made a mistake but would not waive the additional charges, nor refund my deposit. The deposit is being charged back through the credit card company.
I sent the crew away and I have sourced other movers.
Avoid. Unscrupulous & dishonest.

SCAM DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.
As per other reviews, they will jack up the price and hold your possessions hostage until you pay by e-transfer. Several very unethical/questionable conversations with staff and drivers, 8 hours late for pick up and contents were damaged. Said they would send a form so I could request refund of excess charge ($500 more than quote even though my weight was deemed the same as the quote - less than 2000 pounds) and did not send this. Said it would take 4-6 weeks to process refund, but I suspect that is once again part of their scam to give time for people to calm down to reduce poor reviews. If you are wondering if this is a one off situation look at better business bureau there have been multiple complaints over similar and requests by the bureau to explain their actions without a reply. I am embarrassed I didn't do my research. I hope people wont make the same mistake!!
Addendum: now several months since the move. They have sent me nothing to fill out to have the excess charge recovered. Last time I looked on google reviews they were getting ripped apart by several bad reviews, now there are either 5 stars or people like me. They were accused previously of having fake reviews. I suspect this is the case.

I hired this moving company 2 months ago to do my very simple move. I'm a single mom with an infant so getting this planned in advance was crucial so I could organize someone to watch the baby and have family help. 2 days before the scheduled move (this Saturday October 31st) I received a call saying "sorry we aren't available this day" and that the move would now take place the next day and that they would arrive at 8am sharp. I had to break the news to my current landlord that I had a delay although I had agreed to be gone by the 31st. He was kind enough to give me a days grace. So 8am arrives and no one is there. I call the admin number and the number that had called me 3 days prior and no answer. They call you from a "no caller ID" number likely so you can't chase them down when you need them. I had to get my sister to come help me dissemble my baby's crib because his dad picked him up that morning. Everything needs to be set up for him by 6pm at the new place because he's too young to spend overnights without me (9 months). I explained this to the women who called me three days prior AND the scheduler when I booked initially. I finally get a call at 11am (3 hours late) saying that the truck broke down. There was no excuse as to why they notified me 3 hours later and have, yet again, decided to change plans. I said that I needed this done by 6pm and not a minute later and the man promised me that he would find a solution. The entire day goes by and I'm rallying my family at this point because no one is answering my calls or calling me with updates. The man called me from a blocked number so I had no way to reach him. I manager to get my baby's crib over to my new place and he's in bed by 6:30 and I'm left to sleep on the floor in my new living room. I wake up at 12:30am because my baby is stirring and see I have a bunch of missed calls. The arrived at 9pm! After then entire day of no phone call or update, and clear information about my situation with a baby. There was a voicemail from a man who I could hardly understand sounding agitated that I wasn't there. I noticed he had called me from his personal number so I called the next morning and he answered and was super rude saying "I called you 10 times". Who moves someone at 9pm anyway in to a condo building? How does this work for anyone? It would be a great way for me to get a noise complaint... I reiterated to him that I had a baby: what did he want me to do? Wake up my infant? I also don't have a car and live alone with my baby so no one could have helped me at this time since they had already rallied all day for me. I asked him what his plan was and he said "I don't know I'm on my way to Toronto now"...so you aren't going to move me? "I don't know". So unprofessional, terrible communication and zero solution. I called the admin office and got a refund. I ruined everyone's weekend in my family to help me and I had truly one of the worst days of my life yesterday (November 1st). I'm so lucky that the new tenants for my old place aren't moving until November 3rd because I truly was fully and completely screwed. Do not hire this company. I firmly believe the positive reviews are fake. They have one truck. An absolute embarrassment.

Me and 3 of friends just got to new Brunswick from Niagara region in Ontario. We got quoted for a weight of 8500lbs and 40 cents per pound. When they went to the scale they said our stuff weighs 25000lbs and now they are holding our stuff for ransom for $14800... highly regret using this company and we really hope they get shut down.

SCAM company! Beware, don't do business with move me again Outaouais area! They were an hour and half late for moving My friend has signed a contract to get their services after being quoted $550 and after loading the truck they were rude and pushed her to pay $1300! after refusing to negotiate, my friend asked for her things back. They refused to unload the truck and return her things until she paid them the new price and drove away. The next day my friend calls the company's "administration" and after long wait to be called back, they are even more rude to her and price goes up to $1900, she refused and asked for her things back again and they raise the price again to $2100! How can a company be allowed to keep someone's things hostage? This is not in the contract! Police is not getting involved so beware!!! Do not use this moving company!!! I'm appalled by the fact that a company is able to get away with keeping your things hostage like that! Like return her things and send your invoice, the cost can be settled through bbb if you can't directly deal between customer/company 🙄 but then again this is why this company is a SCAM!

I had and continue to have a bad service from the Company. I had 2 hours lift in the building, and the driver arrived 1:45 am late. Given the budget that was given to me and the weight that I had that was approximately 2700 pounds, it should have been the approximate amount of CA $ 1600.00. I should deposit the amount of CA $ 3800.00 in one hour, otherwise I would not send my furniture. I disputed the amount, I said it was way above what they gave me. She told me that I had signed a field that agreed with the estimated weight calculated by the eyes of the drive, which would be 6061 pounds. And to my surprise, the amount that I should pay even with the wrong weight, according to the contract, would be CA $ 3100.00. I do not recommend this company to anyone, they do everything to deceive you. There could be 0 star option. This company doesn't even deserve one.

Initial quote of 1000lbs quickly became >1700lbs after all the items were loaded. I had two options: to have them return all the items back and lose the initial deposit plus other potential charges or have them weigh the item. I was told if they couldn't find a weighing station within a fixed distance from my residence, I would be charged distance traveled per mile to the station. At the end, fee went from ~800$ to 1900$. Got no receipts or invoices at the end. Also, got some items broken. Ofcourse every customer has a decision to make but I would listen to some of the older reviews. I am of the impression some of the recent reviews were faked.

If you are thinking of using their service, do yourself a favour and use some other company. These guys are pathetic liars and as soon as you pay the deposit they won't even answer your call. The so called Accounting Team will call and demand the money the very same day, blame everything on covid and demand as it is either today or your goods will be delayed. And their management team is a joke, they neither call you or respond to your email.

By far the worst moving company I have ever dealt with. If I could give them a negative 5, I would. I was given a quote of $975 and ended up with a bill of $2300. There is a $500 that is not included in the quote (but included in the fine print as I was later told). In addition to that, the only date they could give me to deliver my belongings was before my move in date. So I had no choice but to put all my stuff in storage (an extra $150) and then hire another moving company to move my stuff to my new residence ($500). On top of it all, they tried to charge me an extra $200 because my storage unit was too far of a walk to the moving truck. So my move ended up costing me $3000. And some of my furniture was damaged. I have moved several times in my lifetime and mostly long distance moves. Never have I ever been so dissatisfied by a moving company. I am totally disgusted by how they do business. They really don't care and try to put the blame on the client. I was told to read the fine print and that I could file a complaint...which I tried to do... but no one has ever gotten back to me regarding that. I plan on filing a complaint with the better business bureau. As a single mom, who doesn't have a lot of money, who was trying to have a fresh start with my son, thank you for taking all our savings from us and turning our move into a nightmare.

Could not give them 0 stars otherwise would have given them.
I moved from ontario to nova scotia and i was told by the person who picked up the stuff from ontario from my place that the total after all the taxes and everything i have to pay will be 700 dollars according to contract and the delivery will be in nova scotia on 1 st october.
They delayed the delivery by 5 days and when the stuff arrived in nova scotia their driver called and asked to pay 2500 dollars to company otherwise he will take all the stuff back with him to toronto. It was sunday and we couldnot reach anyone in the company office. To get our stuff we had to pay 2500 plus the basic charge of 100 dollars they ask for.
I got my stuff and one of my mattress was missing which was worth 600dollars and the company said they dont have it with them.
They said rhey will pay only 50 for the mattress which was my new mattress.
And i got my home theatre moved with the delivery that was broken when we got the stuff.
The driver who dropped our stuff did not dropped the stuff on our first floor and asked for 300 dollars if we wanted him to keep the stuff on first floor in our apartment.
This company sucks and i would recommend everyone not to go with this moving company.
If anyone wants proof of my review i can give .
I got all reciepts and contract with me.
Please do not move with this company.

UPDATE, Sept 2020 - This company is being investigated by the Ministry of Consumer Protection in Ontario following my complaint to them. No moving company is allowed to inflate the final bill more than 10% above the original quote without first gaining approval from the customer. Toronto Police's Fraud investigators at 43 Division have confirmed that should anyone find themselves in a position where this company are refusing to return belongings, then the police will attend because they have no legal grounds to hold onto them, regardless of any dispute over the price. I would recommend anyone having an issue with this company to talk to 43 Division and lodge their complaint with the Ministry of Consumer Services. Please also pay attention to the positive reviews here, the names mentioned are ones like - Mick, John, James ... not the names of anyone we have encountered and when I say we, I am talking about a group of over 15 people who are collectively comparing evidence and have sought legal representation. Also note the company's responses on the bad reviews, they are openly mocking customers who make complaints which is extremely unprofessional and not the behaviour of a good company that you should trust with your belongings.
Original Review dated Feb 2020 - This company caused a vehicle accident the day of collection, because of where they parked the truck. During the mayhem that ensued, the drivers were in a rush to finish loading and get to the warehouse because it was past 5. When they were leaving they hurriedly showed me a paper and said something about flat rate versus using the scale. I asked for the scale and the driver said no problem, its probably better and its on the way anyway. I even remember him saying Dixie Rd was where the scale was. The next few days we got no call about the weight, when I called the office they said that was because I had agreed to use the flat rate. I checked the paper and sure enough he had me initial next to where it says flat rate. Our estimated weight based on the inventory was 6700 lb. The flat rate is for 11,000 lb. Why would I have agreed to it? They said nothing they can do, the stuff was already on its way to Nova Scotia. Few days later we got a call from the driver and he wanted to deliver the stuff the next day. This is a full week earlier than the agreed date. We were still in Ontario and didn't get possession of the house for another week. Driver said nothing he could do, he had another job. He basically said if we didn't let him drop off then he would take it to Montreal and store and who knows how long it would be till they were back in NS. This costs 400 a day, we saw on previous complaints and reviews. We had the driver deliver to a couple of storage lockers. It was a weekend so they had to be left unlocked till the Monday morning. We are lucky our stuff was even still there. We had to pay 500 for the lockers and 500 to a local mover to finish the job and bring our stuff to our new house. Upon making a claim with move me again, they told me wait 4 weeks for a decision. It has now been 4 weeks and it is clear they are trying to get rid of me without any refund. We ended up paying these people 6700 after a 2800 estimate, plus 1000 to other companies to get our stuff. Their refund offer was $200, not even close to what they cost us. I declined and chose to make my experience known to the Ministry

If I could put 0 stars I would. It was my first time moving and that should be a good and exciting experience. Instead this company made it a nightmare. They are terrible to communicate with, not professional at all. I originally got an invoice saying how the payment was worked out which was around $1250. A could days later when I got to my new apartment I got a new invoice saying a totally different number and layout. They wouldn't deliver my stuff until I paid the new invoice of $5000. They were over a week late and kept changing the delivery time, and the driver was extremely unprofessional and rude. Once I got my stuff I ended up calculating a total of $1000 damage to some of my things, including a broken bed and a missing box. The company refused to pay anything but 41 cents per pound per object broken. So I got about $60 for a $400 bed. As a young adult I can now barley afford much because they stripped me for my money. Please don't ever use this company. They made moving out for me a complete nightmare.

This was an unmitigated disaster from beginning to end.
Out of necessity, my brother in law and me had to assist with moving all items to try to keep this move on track as best as we could. We had already brought all the boxes outside the house in an effort to fast track what we could. Why pay for movers when you can pay for the privilege of doing 50% of the move yourself?
Here are some of the red flags I wish I had noticed earlier:
1. Customer Service = Business Development ONLY. The actual people that supposedly deal with "service" related issues, are accounting. Ask them to remedy anything the day of your move, you get bounced around with very condescending tones. Heaven forbid someone help get you to the right place, or take ownership for their poor planning and execution on moving day.
2. Clear cut case of over promise, under deliver. Nothing that was promised was actually delivered or complete, from logistics, to material, to time.
3. They hide behind the contract. Their overall compensation offer? $200 bucks. That's right, despite the debacle we had to endure, all we were offered was $200.00.
DO NOT, under any circumstances, believe anything anyone tells you from this company. They will not hold up their end of deal in any form of good faith. Do yourself a favor and if you are going to spend money on moving expenses, spend the extra and go with a reputable company if you can, or consider getting your own pod and figure out a way to move yourself. You'll wind up working as hard and as long as the movers anyways. Call in favors from friends if you need to, but whatever you do, do not get into a contract agreement with this company. You will regret it, your move will not go as planned, and you will even get snarky emails from staff who will condescend to you from moving day, to the day you leave a review about the service provided.
To sum up: If you enjoy watching amateur hour, this is the company for you! However, I wouldn't trust this company to deliver lunch on time for 2 people, let alone a 4 bedroom house as planned and agreed. Make sure as you vet your moving options, you strike this company from the list as quickly as you can. I wish I had.

Wish I would have read the reviews before booking these guys!! I am kicking myself. I just received an invoice for 1600 over the first quote. Asked to see a pic of weight scale. Was told I will get it when I get my stuff. They say that I have 3000 lbs of stuff, NO WAY!! Asked why am I being charged 120 for a truck to pick up my stuff from their warehouse, answer "that's standard practice" was never told this by broker David Freeman when we were chatting vis email and phone. I could have rented a uhaul trailer for 600$ and drove my stuff down myself. Now I am in Halifax and I am screwed!! I have read all of the bad reviews on here. Mr owner, Do you actually read them? I don't think you do. I just read generic responses in all of them. Your replies are not even sincere or apologetic. Should have did my home work!!!
Shame on me and Shame on you guys for gouging people like this!!

Do not hire. The quote I was given was based off of accurate information I gave about what we had to move (we also moved a lot of stuff ourselves before hand) and on the day of, the price doubled and the agent told me that it was based off the weight but the movers never weighed my stuff and a said "they can tell based off of how full the truck is" uhm.. ok also I was promised a free mattress cover and they never put it on and got my mattress dirty and they also dented my front railing. The woman told me I could make a claim but I doubt anything will come of it because you need to have solid proof so all in all, just don't bother.

Worst company to deal with! They quoted one price to match the competitor but didn't reflect it in the contract and won't offer the discount advertised. They take advantage of a person during a stressful time by holding their items hostage until the doubled price is paid. The items moved aren't even worth the cost of moving them! Horrendous business practices and unbelievable that they would continue to blame the customers for bad reviews. Responses are as scripted and shady as their contracts. Save yourself the headache and hire a couple guys from the local jail help you with your move... They're more honest than this company!

Absolutely horrendous experience - if you are reading this, I would not recommend their service even if it were free. Arrived very late (3 hrs. +) with no notice whatsoever. (Every time I called to inquire, they responded that "they are on the way and will be there in 30 mins.") Only one transporter arrived - despite his great work ethic and best efforts, we were forced to do most of the packing and loading ourselves to ensure everything would be done on time. Throughout this process, some minor damage was caused to various pieces of furniture as well as the house. Very little compensation provided for all problems listed above.
QA representative was especially sarcastic and condescending on the phone, by means of her demeaning and patronizing tone. Delivery scheduling did not consider our needs or plans, forcing us to abandon our own schedule and travel overnight to meet the early-morning delivery time. (I understand if that is the only available time slot that day, but it is unreasonable not to offer any other times on the following days as well.)
TL;DR: Arrived extremely late with no notice, we did most of the packing & loading ourselves, delivery scheduling problems, and very disrespectful QA representative. Avoid at all costs.

I wish I took this company's bad reviews more seriously.
I've had an absolutely horrible experience with them, and I highly recommend going with a company that treats it's customers a lot better when issues happen. Believe in all the negative reviews they've gotten. They seem all super nice, until an issue happens, and then they're totally against you in every way.
I was asked by the movers during pickup for an additional $200 cash deposit. I thought that strange, but they insisted. When I asked where that amount would be noted, they pointed to the contract noting a $200 cash deposit. I didn't notice at the time, but that amount was for the initial $200 I paid upon booking the move.
When I got the bill, I noticed that additional $200 was not subtracted from my bill. When I talked to Nicole in accounting about that, she told me their movers don't ask for additional cash deposits, and when I told her what happened, she put the blame all on me. Telling me I should've looked more carefully at the contract and not taking my concerns seriously. I told them I wasn't going to pay until that $200 scammed from me by the movers was removed. She said they would put my things in storage and charge me for that, and added $400 to my bill!! Just awful. She also said I'd have to fill out a claim form to try and get that $200 back.
I ended up paying the bill that included the extra charges and that didn't have that $200 removed, even though one of the ladies not in accounting had confirmed with the movers that they indeed did take $200 from me as an additional "deposit". Even though one of them confirmed what I had said, I was still forced to fill out the claim form, and told it would be 4 weeks before a decision would be made!! Just awful. On top of all the hassles moving, the last thing I needed was to have all those issues created by the folks at Move Me Again, to have $200 scammed off me and to be charged extra for storage while I tried to resolve such a simple issue to fix.
I highly recommend to stay away from Move Me Again, because they have absolutely horrible policies. If an issue happens, all the niceness goes away instantly, you'll be blamed for everything, and they'll make it hell for you.

I even suspect they are a scam company , they put my furniture on their truck and threaten me to pay double the quoted price,Otherwise, the furniture will not be returned to me. They arbitrarily changed the moving time until late at night, my child and I almost died on the highway. I wait for the day when God punishes them。

I would recommend anyone who may use this company to keep going. They underestimated me by 5000+ and still have not seen the total weight. My grandmothers stirling silverware is still missing I did find 2 mini spoons from the set at the bottom of my driveway.
Workers refused to actually load my tools. So they stayed at my old home and I got charged from them $1300.00 for removal. I also have to purchase tools to replace those this company's workers refused to allow me to take.
And any damage to your precious things? Don't worry it's insured. But it $500.00 deductible PER ITEM! My $ 300.00 custom made pitcher?? Nope not worth 500 sorry. The other half of my daughter trampoline that didn't make it??? Nope trampolines are only with $350 to buy. Biggest scam I've ever come across. Please use uhauls and do yourself. Some very sentimental possessions have been destroyed and these people don't care.

How We Got Ripped Off For $5034.00 by Move Me Again Transportation
__________________________________________________________________
NOTE: Review updated on 25 Jan 2019 to add the following details:
After considerable discussions, subtle threats from their lawyers, etc., we were contacted by a person who stated that they were the "new owner" of the company. The new owner of Move Me Again Transportation agreed to a partial refund of the fees we were charged to get our belongings back, which we quickly received via e-transfer. Our sincere thank you to "Steven" who was by far the most reasonable voice at the company and seemed to understand that customer service needed to be a priority.
End of Update
____________________________________________________________________
We booked the 5.4km "1-Day" move with Move Me Again Transportation in October to take place in December. We sent room inventory lists, plus links to photos of every room in the entire house as requested. We received a quote of $910.00, about the "middle of the pack" of the quotes from the 7 movers we contacted.
They packed our entire house on 1 Dec., the truck left at 5:00pm, we waited for 3 hours at the new house, then finally called the driver. We were told to contact the company. We did, they informed us that now that they had all of our belongings, the price to get them back would now be $2660.00!
We had budgeted $910 (their official quote) plus an additional $500 for any variances in their estimate. We didn't HAVE $2660.00. We refused to pay the tripled bait & switch price by e-transfer in the middle of the night as they requested..
As a result of our refusal to pay the ransom, Move Me Again Transportation KEPT our belongings (including all of our food, clothing, MEDICATION, etc.) hostage for 3 days until we begged and borrowed from friends and relatives to come up with the new fee of $5034.00 to get our belongings back.
The Ontario Provincial Police and Toronto Police are now involved in a criminal investigation regarding this incident. Since posting my Yelp review regarding this incident I have been contacted by a number of ADDITIONAL people who have been scammed by this company.
AVOID "Move Me Again Transportation" at ALL costs!

They arrived with the truck already half loaded with someone else's stuff. Ours was a local move of about 20 kilometres. There was not enough room on the truck for our things. They crammed our things in then had to make a return visit to pick up the rest of our stuff. They put things anywhere in our new place and piled things all over. We are in our 70's and getting heavy boxes down that are piled three deep was awful for us. There was a language barrier, one guy deaf the other ESL. The worst experience of our lives. Then to top it off it cost $2700! Far more than their advertisement and quote. We understood an extra charge for waiting time but the rest was total rip off. The two guys tried their best and seemed kind but our furniture was banged and scratched. Two of our pictures have had to be reframed due to damage as well. The whole experience was traumatic and we have had to put it out of our heads and mark it down as a bad memory. It took them from 9a.m. till 9 at night! They even suggested we store the stuff they couldn't fit in the truck in our neighbours garage and come back for it the next day and load it into our own vehicle! The stuff being our mattresses and bed, two large rugs and a number of other large items. We have moved several times and never experienced anything as awful as this. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY if you value your possessions and your sanity.

I would give them -5 not 1. The worst experience ever. They have the worst customer service. After lying about some hidden and extra charges, they even changed the charge I directly ask them. Their driver showed up late. Refused to start moving. Their accountant, Nichole never apologize for the situation they made for my family and refused to pay back the deposit with signing some illegal documents.

They should be called: "NEVER MOVE ME AGAIN"
We had the WORST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE we have had with a moving company.
I have moved coast to coast in Canada 3 times and I had never experience such a bad experience with a moving company ever.
I used this company to move from Montreal to Toronto. From the start things started to look really bad as their truck was almost 4 hours late. We were understanding and did not say anything about their delay.
We were advised that a crew of 3 people was going to come and do the work so they could finish in 3 hours approximately. The truck showed up a with 2 guys at 5pm in the afternoon and finished at 12:30 am. Yes: over 7 hours to finish up loading not even a full 26' truck. I had to help them because we were just desperate waiting and frustrated seen how the movers did not have the experience win our opinion.
We had to drive to Montreal that night and arrived in Toronto at around 7am. We basically followed the truck to Toronto.
We were charged 100 dollar warehouse fee, even though we did not have to use their service.
Accounting demanded payment immediately for the invoice so they could deliver our things and we issued payment right away.
They originally quoted around 1,700 and charged 3,800. We paid it.
Upon arrival, the guys mentioned that we had to pay an additional 200 for the stairs on the front; we agreed to the charge.
My wife is pregnant and I have a 1 year old, we were exhausted and wanted everything just to finish.
The crew started to unload the boxes and said that they will leave everything in one room and don't bring them to any room. I had to argue and explained that all previous movers had brought the boxes to the rooms I told them to. They finally agreed and did it for a while.
Upon inspection of the bill, we noticed that they overcharged ya 400 for things that the sales rep said that we were not going to get charged. So, the counting department put the blame on us and said that we should have better checked the invoice before issuing payment. She was unapologetic and rude. Knowing this, we asked them to take the 200 they wanted for the stair fees and they would still owe us around 200 and they could return that to us. At that point, the accounting lady started yelling at my wife, being extremely rude and unprofessional claiming that they had procedures in place and we had to pay the money and then they could deal with us with their claims department.
She gave the order to the crew to leave my stuff outside on the street if I did not give them the additional 200 dollars. We ended up paying cash to the crew the money as we were basically held hostage at the time.
The driver and crew were feeling really bad and they tried to do their best to accommodate after they saw our situation.
On top of that, their truck damage the landscaping of the property and when the neighbor strayed mentioning over to them, they just kept saying "the office will take care of it". Well it never happened and we had to pay to get it fixed.
In addition, they damage our furniture including a drawer and scratched our dinning room table .
It has been approximately 2 weeks and you can already guess that their "claims" department has never reached out and we will never see our money.
Bottom line - STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - YOU HAVE BETTER CHOICES

Do not deal with them.
They do not have any address. They just have email and phone.
They stole from me simply in 4 steps:
They tricked to get the deposit.
Their driver did show up 3 hrs later and refused to start moving.
They did not offer any other day.
They did not pay the deposit back unless signing some illegal docs.

When I phoned I got a quote from Tara and gave a deposit. The arrangement was pickup on Monday and deliver on Tuesday. They were late picking up and then that night Nicole called me at 5 pm to tell me the price was almost 2600 which was about 2000 more than the route. I had very little furniture. It took the guys 90 mins to lead. I have had 3 times that lead of furniture and paid less than 1000 and moved a lot further. This is the worst moving company around. STAYAWAy FROM THEM I still haven't received any invoice showing the charges

They quoted my 82 year old mother on a pension that lives in Halton Housing a price of $500 for 2000 lbs then additional for weight. They confirmed there is no other fees. Upon arrival they charged 1873.00 for a couch a bed a dresser and boxes. I was told they charged $200 every time they walk up the stairs to get the boxes. They are thief's and I would NEVER use them or recommend their services. They use your items as hostage and will not deliver the items until it's paid up front in full!! They changed the pick up date twice and delivery date as well. Horrible customer service!! Will be reporting them to Consumer Alert CP24

My Parents moved from Halifax to Toronto with this company and had absolutely the worse moving experience.
They missed the pickup date with no notice sent, when my parents called them, they said the driver missed the p/u and rescheduled the new p/u in a few day, so they had to delay their travel plan because of this. The drop off was also late by a few days
The furniture arrived with damages and missing pieces. Broken and chipped tables and desks, missing top glass, broken set of china plates, and more.
The company offered a settlement of $200 to cover the cost of damage, which is barely enough to cover the damage and trouble they caused.
We would highly recommend to stay away from this company for moving.

Don't ever use this company, they got our stuff on their van then sent us an invoice of triple what the estimate was, on top of it about $2,000 worth of our furniture is now ruined, we were sent a claim form that we would have to pay a $500 deductible and they only gave you $.60 to the lbs of the item's ruined, I will be blowing up their name across every media site so noone ever has to go through what we did. I will be making sure that noone I know or they know or any of their friends know to NOT use this company.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Absolutely horrendous experience! 0 stars. Spend the little extra money to get an actual professional company, save yourself the hassle and stress.
I hired this company to move myself and my girlfriend from Moncton to Halifax, which entailed loading my apartment and her apartment (both in Moncton), storing our things for 1 month, and then unloading our things in our new apartment in Halifax. I had set up the initial loading day to be anytime on or before the last day of our leases. I could not have been more clear about my need to be out of our apartments on the last day of our lease, to which Tara (the customer service rep) assured me would be easily done. I had this arrangement set up over a month in advance, so was reasonably confident they should be able to follow through with their promise and so I paid the deposit to set it up.
Fastforward to THE DAY I NEED TO BE OUT OF THE APARTMENTS. We planned on getting my things and my girlfriends things midday, this got pushed to the evening. No big issue. Then they want to push it so that my girlfriends things would be picked up late at night, and my things would likely need to be picked up early the next morning. I now have to plead with my landlord to let me keep my things in my apartment longer than we agreed, to which I was able to do. I then get an update that they will be picking my girlfriends stuff up at around 1 in the morning, and my stuff at around 6am. This is absolutely ridiculous at this point, but it's really all I have since I have to be out of my apartments so I agree. Its now 4:30pm the day I need to be out of my apartments, and I get a TEXT FROM THE DRIVER telling me he CAN'T DO IT AT ALL. I'm now completely screwed, with no movers only hours before I legally have to be out of my apartments. I'm calling move-me again and emailing over and over to NO ANSWER! They won't answer my calls or emails, and even disconnect the phoneline so I can't leave a message! So now not only do I have no movers, I can't even get ahold of them to get my deposit back.
They should be ashamed that this is how they conduct business, completely unprofessional and ridiculous. I was nothing but civil the whole time, accommodating their scheduling screw ups up until the point where I was fine with having my things picked up in the middle of the night, so long as it got done. They should have known they couldn't get my things when I wanted way in advance and told me to find someone else, instead they completely screwed me and then wouldn't answer my calls or emails. Never use this company

Interstate move from Ontario to Quebec
Worst experience EVER. I wish I hadn't been fooled by Tara's (their relocation consultant) charm. Up until you make your payment, they will promise you the moon on a silver platter. Afterwards, all trace of professionalism or even basic respect is lost. They called us the afternoon before our scheduled delivery to say they would be coming at 7-8 pm instead of 7-8 am because they took on a new job that interfered with ours. They offered us a 5% discount for the change. We opposed this change for many valid reasons including our friends having taken the day off from work to help us unpack, having made arrangements for our dog to be boarded during the move, our new building's policy of not allowing move-in activities after working hours and, most importantly, the fact that we were leaving the country in 2 days. They assured us they would arrive at 10 am (we have that in writing). The next day was a series of phone calls to inform us they cannot make it at the scheduled time (first 10 am, then 11:30 am, then 1 pm, then 4 pm, then 5-6 pm). The reasons provided were quite diverse: the drivers were tired and had to stop to rest; the drivers got stopped by the police for 2 hours; a client suddenly requested the delivery of his/her belongings which were held in storage; a client misplaced some vital medicine in the moving boxes and the delay was necessary in order to look for it and retrieve it; another (or possibly the same) client unexpectedly had 15,000 lbs of stuff to move and that took much longer than anticipated. They eventually arrived at 7 pm and left around 11 pm. The move-out had been uneventful, but the move-in was very sloppy (their employees told us they were scheduled for yet another job after us!). They refused to reassemble our bed, which they themselves had disassembled a few days before (we had paid 75$ specifically for this service) and they lost half of the pieces to a bookshelf which now cannot be reassembled either. We naturally complained about all of this and we were told to file a complaint. After 3 weeks, their response was that (a) they are not liable for "delay caused by highway obstruction, weather conditions, faulty or impassable highways, or lack of capacity of any highway, bridge or ferry, or cause by breakdown or mechanical defect or vehicles or equipment or from any cause other than negligence of the carrier" (hello? You gave us completely different reasons for the delay, starting with having taken on a better paying job as a result of which you were offering us a 5% discount), (b) With regards to the missing pieces of your bookcase, [...] Please check carefully while unpacking, as you will find the pieces in question taped in place, and (c) they completely ignored the claim about the failure to reassemble our bed. So this is what you may expect from this company. We are moving forward with a formal complaint to the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services for misrepresentation under Section (14) 1 of the Consumer Protection Act (2002), because they promised to deliver a service or product when they knew or should have known that it was not possible. "Businesses" like this should not exist.

Awful, Avoid this company!
This company's service is awful. They charged me way more than what they had offered me in their quote. There were so many hidden feeds even though i had asked specifically about this a few times and they had assured me that there will be no hidden charges. You will first find out about these charges on the day of moving and if you do not agree with the new cost, good lucking finding a new mover on very last minute. I give you an example: one of the hidden fees is the storage fee which is around 150$. Now, if your furniture cannot be delivered on the same day bcs they dont do the same day delivery, and they need the truck so they have to unload the stuff somewhere, then the storage fee is not an optional fee! so this should appear in their quote! but, you will see this on moving day.
There are so many items just like this which they do not tell you about when you ask for a quote! They did not wrap my furniture properly, I had to insist on every single item. Guess what was their response? we will not have enough blanket for next move!!! seriously?!! After long discussions, they asked us to trust them and guess what! lots of items were delivered damaged.
In our communications before the moving day, they had mentioned that we can be there when they do the scaling. However, later on the day of moving, the movers said this is not possible. I am sure I been overcharged. So this is how it works: on the day of delivery, they call you and tell you how much your stuff weight. If you do not believe the number is correct, they offer to rescale at the cost of 500$ deposit. If it is less than what they reported, they pay you back (no penalty for them though!) if not you lost 500$+labor fee and god know what other hidden fees are gonna show up on your bill. So you do the math! you will end up not taking the risk! and 500$ means they can overestimate your furniture by 1700lb!!! and just think how many customers end up accepting this charge bcs either they doubt if they lose more money, or simply they do not have the option to reserve the elevator again or need they furniture asap, just like me!
Overall, I believe this company's service is awful! yes, the sale representative is nice but she has no power on anything except for sending emails and setting the dates! If there are new charges that you have not been told on previous communications, no one will answer you! you will have to accept their terms which you just found out about on moving day as well as all the new charges. If there are any damaged items, there is no way you get a compensation. You have to pay the full amount before they unload and wait for them to see if they would like to pay you anything. And if you are very lucky (you wont be) here is their insurance policy, 60cents per pound for each item damaged (if eligible!) so let say you have a leather sofa you bought for 2000$ and this is you heaviest item and weights 40kg! so you are lucky! now they will pay you 40*0.6=24$! now you can replace your sofa easily! wait this is not all about it ~ they have a deductible of 500$ as well! So for them to start paying you a penny for damage they have made, they should have at least damaged 833kg of your items!!!
I have had so many moving experiences over the years, yet this was the worst one! Just do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. Whatever they are making they owe it to their sale representative which can well sell their awful service.

Worst move ever!
We had a move scheduled for July 14, 2017. The movers were supposed to arrive between 3:00pm - 4:00pm, and they did not arrive until 7:30pm or so. The move lasted until after 2:00am.
The movers themselves were good (even though they were very late), but they were visibly exhausted from the previous job and driving they just did. The sales and scheduling department are the real problem.
This company is mistreating their "professional movers" and creating an environment where they are working long hours for likely little pay. The amount of consecutive working hours and driving hours exceeds labour and safety laws.
- Scheduling department never contacted us before the move. We had to contact them the day before to confirm the pickup time. They were supposed to contact us a week before or a few days before.
- The movers arrived 3.5 later than the estimate because the scheduling department created an unrealistic job and provided little details to the movers. They drove from Toronto to Quebec City, moved a four bedroom house, then drove 8 hours to us to move a three bedroom house. They worked for 30 hours straight, including driving. This violates labour laws and safety laws.
- We asked the sales agent Tara if we should empty dressers, and she said it was ok to leave them. The movers told us that there is a policy to empty them, but they moved them anyways.
- When making the payment at 11:00pm, a warehouse manager Jamal wanted us to send an interac e-transfer to a hotmail address instead of the same email address as the deposit. This was very odd and after arguing on the phone, ended up paying by Visa. During the conversation he was very rude, saying "tick tock, time is running" to pressure us to pay.
- After the move was finished, we spoke with Sarah who supposedly runs the scheduling department to ask about additional compensation for all the issues. (the minimum estimate was 7 hours but the movers only charged us for 6) She was supposed to call back but never did. We had to follow up two days later. No compensation.

Long-distance move from Ingersoll, ON to Miramichi, NB
Movers from HELL
This company has no conscience I was charged over 13,665 no break down i was threatened and forced to pay through e-transfer was quoted 2 much lower prices in the beginning. I was told my furniture would arrive by April 30 waited for 2 weeks we had to sleep on the floor could not get a hold of them could not leave a message because machine was full did not answer my emails It was a very trimatic experience it has scared me for life the way they treathen me held my belonging they do not care... and i have damage furniture that is no good now i took pictures and sent it to them they have not answered me yet and i believe they will not.
They lie lie and tell more lies... We did all our own packing had no fridge no stove washer or dryer no kitchen table or chairs we moved from ingersoll on to Miramichi NB I called police and he was discused with them said i should file a lawsuit but i dont have that kind of money after what they did to me.
I know people that got different company moved farther away and got charged half as much. Also i seen in their statement i would not be charged for stairs when they came they charged me 310. extra because of stairs.
When they droped off furniture they tried same thing i told him where he could go... their all a bunch of very evil crooks. "
I really do not know how they can sleep at night or even look at themselves in the mirror what they do to people isnt right.
But Carma is a Bit*h and im sure it will come back to each one of them.

PLEASE stay away from them,we paid $2320 ransom and no receipt.
PLEASE READ reviews of other people who got screwed like us. Wish there were "minus five stars" to rate them. Even their website is not secure. They basically hijacked our belongings and forced us to pay $2320 with no justification for the fees or receipt of any kind. Also anyone interested in a class action lawsuit please contact me our family is ready to take them to court in Quebec. Here is some of the horror we went through:
1. They change appointment last minute from Saturday to Sunday. This completely skewed our planning with previous landlord and timing to move on our own flowers, mirrors etc.
2. A lot of hidden fees pop up once confirmation is sent and deposit is accepted. Loading fee, origin fee, all of a sudden they count every single step even inside the house as extra, etc.
3. Movers showed up late with fake names (we found out later that they were using fake names). Damaged the back of the fridge (bumped it really hard down the stairs) and the floor in the hallway (photos attached). Still no response from their "claims department" on indemnity of any kind.
4. Tried to extract from us payment in cash based on a very, very overblown "flat rate" offer. When we refused they started adding stair fees, storage fees (a simple 5 km away, WTF storage?) and whatnot to the weighing option we chose. We still opted for weighing, even at a non-government scale - any place where they could weigh. For Christ's sake, four appliances, a mattress, a sofa and a few shelving units, a desk and a commode. Not even 2000 lbs, they wanted to charge us flat rate for 3500 lb. Even at 3500 lbs the "flat rate" came up to ~$1500. I said "no, let's go to a scale".
5. We went to 2 scales, denied at both places (remember they moved our appointment for Sunday, everything closed, incl. their office and customer service.) Here things really started going sideways. I try to negotiate something along the lines of $1300-1400 just so we can go home and they can proceed with other moves. "Boss said you create so much trouble, he sent us to government scale in Cornwall" WTF? Obviously boss not used to accountability. Montreal-Cornwal is 150 km, it would take a whole day to be back. "Boss said", they say and take off "for Cornwall". I say "Fine, bring me the slip from the scale".
6. 20 minutes later truck is a block away from our old place. I go to see them (thought they were coming back to re-negotiate, but got lost). They say "We have 2 other moves to finish, we finish them and then go to Cornwall, weigh and deliver your stuff". I beg them to settle for a reasonable flat rate at 2500 lbs (as per the calculations per lb etc. would have cost appr. $1300 tops) and stop dragging our stuff all over the place. Mover says "go home, I will negotiate with my boss".
7. A few hours later a call from a blocked number - "Tracy" slaps us with a $2120 bill on top of the $200 that we already paid. "NON NEGOTIABLE". I ask for breakdown, justification, explanation, she says "I write up the invoice, the movers have the breakdown". I try to call and text the movers, no luck. She said (my wife is witness) "if you want your belongings, you pay. I encourage you to call the Police, I know what they will say. Police was called on us plenty of times. They will tell you this is a civil matter" Then yells at me for a few minutes for insulting the movers or something. Although the whole time I was overly polite with them. She even "warned" me to leave them alone when they came with our belongings. We go back and forth, she refuses to email any document for the price, no number to call back, insisting on the $2120 balance in 15 minutes or "she will reroute the truck to a storage place". I say "so this is the ransom?" She says (my wife is witness) "yes sir this is the ransom".
8.Movers show up, collect our cash and sign a "receipt" with a different name. Refuse to show ID with the words "I do not know how far you will take this".
9 Multiple emails exchanged with "claims" department, their most generous offer is $100 discount. Still no justification, no word on the damages. Taking them to small claims court in Quebec.

When they were done loading the truck on the initial move day, the movers came to us all concerned that the contents of our 950 sq. ft apartment (without any major appliances included) had totally filled their 26 ft. truck. When their truck is full, the weight is at least 16,500 lbs, and quite possibly quite a bit more. They've never seen it weigh less when it's completely full like that, so they're going to give us a deal and lock it in at 16,500 flat rate. Don't tell Tara we are giving you this deal, she'll be mad.
5 weeks before the second part of the move was to take place, we called Move Me Again Transportation Inc. and voiced our concerns with Tara. We requested that the truck be weighed when it was loaded with our belongings to be delivered to our new home. At first, it sounded like she was agreeable, but there would be a $500 re-weigh fee if they were to do that. We agreed since we were convinced the 16,500 lbs was double the actual weight, and we were willing to take the risk if it happened to weigh more. Tara said she had to put me on hold, but would not disconnect me.
We would have to further dip into our life savings to close on the house.Attached is a picture of the 'full' 26 foot truck when it arrived at our new home.

Long-distance move from Guelph, ON to Truro, NS
Absolutely Hoodwinked
We originally contacted Roadway Moving and did all our business with them - until we got a bill from Move Me Again. These businesses are somehow linked.
I was quoted by sales rep "David" (no last name) from Roadway Moving; the cost to move our small 2 bedroom home from Guelph, ON to Truro, NS would be about $1000 - $0.43/lb . I gave a pretty detailed list of what we would be moving. He estimated that we would have about 2000lbs of items to be moved. He waived the scale fee on our contract, and I thought that was really nice. I paid the $200 deposit.
We are already pretty minimalistic, live in a 400sf house, and had sold or donated most of our belongings. I spent the days previous to the movers' arrival packing. When they showed up, 3 men in an unmarked truck, we had everything packed and labelled in the front room, so they had very little work to do. We had about 30 boxes, and a washer and dryer. No surprises, everything had been detailed in our emails to David. They only took about 30 minutes to get everything labelled, recorded, and loaded. The movers were fast and efficient. I gave them snacks and water. When they were finished, we tipped them well.
I had been responsible for most of the planning and communication, and they knew that. The crew leader waited until I was preoccupied to manipulate my husband to sign a new contract. They said they would charge him a $150 scale fee, and he would be required to drive with them all the way back to the scale in another town, OR that he (the crew leader) could just take a stab at the weight. He assured my husband he had been doing this for a long time. He told my husband that we had been quoted between 2000-4000lbs, and that the washer and dryer was more weight than they were expecting, so he would guess about 4750lbs. My husband thought that is seemed like too much, but he assured him that we had lots of tools too. He told him $750 over the quoted amount wouldn't be too much extra. My husband signed after some influencing, and the movers left.
Then we heard nothing. We started calling within the week. Our phone calls were dodged, our emails and voicemails ignored. Then finally my husband got through to someone. He was told we would hear from the accounting department tomorrow. We were expecting a phone call, but heard nothing all morning. I laid down after lunch and received an email. It was the bill for another $2800+tax. But this time is was from Move Me Again?? And they needed payment in 2 hours or we would not get our items.
We called Roadway over and over again and the poor receptionist had no idea how to help us. Everyone was avoiding our calls. Finally, she patched us through to the manager who continued to yell and belittle my husband for 15 minutes. She essentially told us there is nothing she could do because he signed the new contract. She was so incredibly rude. We asked for an itemized copy, which more than 3 weeks later we have not received.
If you do the math, $0.43/lb * 4750lb = $2042.50... but we were charged $2,807.50+tax. They did not include our deposit. That means that not only is there $765 of hidden charges, but they also took a deposit that they did not put towards our balance. So not only we were ripped off by weight, but also lost $965 of fees.
I have so many questions, who is "Move Me Again"? What is the $765 in hidden fees? Will we ever get a cost breakdown?
All in all, I am super disappointed. I read so many reviews on this company and even read articles called "How Not To Get Ripped Off by Moving Companies" and yet here we are - out over AT LEAST $1500. We did everything right and still got played.

Negative Star Review.
We have been extorted by this company for the past five days, as specified by the police. Once our belongings and deposit were taken by the movers, they overestimated the weight (6000lbs for a living room set and some ikea shelving) and left with our goods, refusing to provide an invoice, a clear scale receipt or a guaranteed date of delivery while still demanding thousands of dollars on top of the considerable deposit already paid. They will no longer respond to our emails or requests to have our goods reweighed as outlined in the contract we signed. The positive reviews are surely falsified and the company representatives will lie through their teeth to you. I wish we could give negative star reviews.

Long-distance move from Toronto, ON to Halifax, NS
Do not use them for a distance move.
Moved to Halifax with them. They are the movers that you hear horror stories about. After everything was on the truck the price suddenly went from $2100 to just under $5000. This was a small load from two locations which was part of the estimate. No sofas. No beds. No appliances. Basically a studio apartment. I needed 6 boxes worth packed by them. It took them 20 minutes and they charged $700!! Then there was no communication. No voicemail. No answers as to when the truck would arrive. A week and a half later the driver called me and said they would be delivering in 2 hours..this is a Toronto based company that has thousands of condos and apartments. They know that you must book an elevator. I spent $500 at tiny Airbnb s waiting in total silence. Scam artists. But once everything is on the truck you are out of luck. Stay away.

I cannot say enough bad things about this company, broken items, one really obnoxious mover, tripled my price and refused to deliver until I had paid.
Kept upping the price as the day wore on. Took advantage of a person with a disability, refused to deliver at pre arranged time, came over an hour late, used my chairs for a "smoke break" got charged for disassembling and assembling, nothing was assembled, left in a hurry probably due to all the broken items, refuse to give a breakdown of bill, paid taxes and would not give a ligitimate reciept with breakdown on.
Rude customer service the second after deposit was paid.
An extremely traumatic experience that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy!

Nightmare Move
First of all they were late. Told 2-4, the movers called and said it would be 5:30. They knocked down communication lines on the way down the street. After the fire department came and repaired the lines, the move started at 7:30 pm. Once truck was loaded they wanted payment. We were originally quoted for 4500 pounds based on the itemized list I provided. The movers insisted we had more weight and now the cost doubled! If we didn't pay they were taking our belongings off the truck and leaving them on the lawn. It's now 10:30pm. Having no choice, we paid. Off loading, they broke numerous items and did some damage to both locations. The next day we started trying to contact the office. This is day 3. No answer to emails and when you call you get a message - mailbox is full or mailbox hasn't been set up. We have put a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They mislead consumers by quoting low, rather then being honest.

Cross Province Move

Long-distance move from Ontario to Nova Scotia
Delivery delayed in 10 days
I hired Move me Again to move from Toronto to Halifax. My things were picked up on November 24th with the promise to be delivered on December 5th. Today is December 14th and my things are still in Toronto. I sent several emails to the company, to which they rarely reply, and the phone always speaks of a message that the message box is full. An initial payment of $ 200 has been sent. I would just like to be able to receive my belongings, as I am in an empty apartment and cannot leave because I am quarantined due to the requirements of the province of Nova Scotia.
Many disorders are being caused because of this delay and the lack of foresight and answers for my case.

Avoid at all cost.
TL/DR: Use anyone else, its basically a running scam.
This company seems fine when you talk to their front line (under the name O'Canada movers). Their phone service is very misleading as it doesn't reflect the rest of their service.
I got quoted/invoiced/paid the deposit with "O'canada" movers but when billing called me, it was under (Move me again transportation, first sign of illegitimate business)
I was quoted 900$ from pictures I sent (due to COVID) and it ended being double. The pictures contained WAY more stuff than I actually ended up moving. So basically they're awful at estimating moving costs.
My booked time went from between 8-9 to 11-2 under 24hrs before the move.
The movers showed up 4hrs late.
Movers didn't set up a ramp and "hand bombed" my belongings haphazardly instead of using an easily usable ramp. They did awful at wrapping and prepping for the move.
They kicked just about every thing despite my telling them to be careful as there's expensive equipment in there (recording studio equipment). Boxes were packed In the truck sideways and upside down despite being marked fragile with arrows pointing up. When I told them again to be careful I was told to " just claim it" (I doubt that would be easy, if possibleas I haven't been able to reach anyone anymore).
Once my stuff was all in the truck, THAT is when they told me it was going to be double what my quote was. Now, due to them being 4hrs late, by the time the truck was packed I couldn't contact the office, essentially holding my belongings hostage. No one's even answered my emails yet or returned my phone calls.
When I was driving back (Keswick to Ottawa) I got a call from their office regarding the weight of the the items. The office did not know the movers were 4hrs late (how does a company not know when their employees are 4hrs late!?!) And they gave me a measly 100$ off (6%).
When they got to my address in the morning the movers had incredibly shitty attitudes (at least the one that spoke english, the one that didn't was as friendly as one can be without verbal communication). They wanted me to pay before they unloaded my stuff to which I declined as I really didn't trust them at this point.
He then started to argue with me aggressively that he wouldn't unload till he got paid and that he'd call the police. I went and got the cash, counted it in front of him to show that I had it. He then refused to unload till he got paid half to which I said I'll pay half when it's half unloaded. Then he said he'd get the other half when the truck is unloaded. At half, he got half the money. Then when the truck was 95% unloaded, he kept the boxes with the most expensive stuff (stuff I told him to be extra careful with) in the truck till I paid. He was wildly aggressive about it. I stood my ground and got them to unload the rest. At which point he wanted 40$ more than what he told me when he got me to count the cash.
I've worked many customer service jobs in my day, been a customer in many places and this has gotta be one of the worst experiences I've ever had (and I have a Google review where they had us sit in a restaurant an hour for our meal because they forgot to buy pasta lol).
I would sell everything at a loss before hiring these scammers ever again. I cant imagine the things they get away with dealing with more vulnerable people.
Its been 3 weeks and I still haven't gotten a response to multiple emails, phone calls or reviews.

Never Again!
You gave us completely different reasons for the delay, starting with having taken on a better paying job as a result of which you were offering us a 5% discount), (b) With regards to the missing pieces of your bookcase, [..] Please check carefully while unpacking, as you will find the pieces in question taped in place, and (c) they completely ignored the claim about the failure to reassemble our bed.

Incompetent thieves.
I had a short closing and they told they could do it. When I hired them, they could only do it the day before, at 4pm, and deliver 2 days later, at noon.
Then they called me and said they would be there the day before (2 days before closing) at 8 am. I said I could not do that and 4 pm was the only time that was acceptable.
They picked up but left a lot behind. They went through the mud and muck and dragged it through the house and onto the carpets.
I had to hire my own truck to move the rest.
But the day before they were due to deliver, I was called to say they would be there between 6 and 8 am. I told them I could not do that. They replied that I would have to pay almost $200 per day until they could deliver it 12 days later. I could not afford that. I had moved what they left behind and was exhausted, and didn't wake up in time. They charged me almost $1000 to turn around and when they delivered it, they dropped things into mud, broke things, took out a window bot basement stuff, and didn't put it back.
They are incompetent cowboys.

Do Not Hire This Company.
I had set up the initial loading day to be anytime on our before the last day of our leases.
Its now 4:30pm the day I need to be out of my apartments, and I get a TEXT FROM THE DRIVER telling me he CAN'T DO IT ALL.
Never use this company.

Horrible End Experience.
We moved our 1 bedroom apt from Halifax, NS to Barrie, ON. We were told/estimated a flat rate of $1,400 after listing every item that we were moving. We were told we could add a packing fee which would be around $150. After we moved back, we got an invoice of $3,500 with a $600 packing fee. We spoke with Nicole to try and resolve the price and potentially lower it. She was absolutely horrible to deal with and would not give us one good solution to help. Very rude and ingenuous. They were almost 2k over their estimate - very unprofessional and I recommend staying away from this company at all costs.

Avoid at all costs.
As stated by others, this company is completely dishonest and will hold your belongings and try to extort more money from you. They were supposed tocome at 4 p.m. and instead showed up at 10 p.m. I expected to go to a weighing station with them, as per my many email exchanges with the company. After loading the truck, they insisted that I sign a paper stating that I would agree to a flat weight of 14,000 lbs. I had spent months getting rid of things, including all our appliances, so we'd be under the 6,000 lbs provided for in our agreement.
I'm a single mom and I was alone with 3 angry men at 2:30 a.m., all pressuring me to sign the paper. My children were in the car, crying. The mover told me it didn't matter if I signed because I could still arrange to go to a weighing station the next day, all I had to do was call Tara and arrange it. He said the signature was just so they could leave with my things. I felt intimidated and unsafe, but I signed thinking that, as he said, I could straighten it all out with the office the next day.
They've had our stuff for 9 days now and I've had only one brief phone call with them. No response to my many emails and calls. They insist I have to pay for the 14,000 lbs even though I know we don't have anywhere near that much stuff. Was outright lied to several times, as it turns out.

Scammers and Thieves.
Any good review on this company has got to be a joke and probably paid for to lie. They have scammed, lied and cheated their way through the process I experienced. Nothing but legal action is ahead for them now and it is going to cost them a lot more in the long run when I am done with them. Do Not hire them. They hide behind 3 names. This one, Millenium Van Lines and Roadway Moving and probably more. Don't have visa I am sure cause when people find out how bad they are, they reverse the charges.. so conveniently their visa is down.. yeah right. . Good luck finding someone that can speak English when they are loading you. Even the police called them scammers.. Check them out with the BBB they won't even respond to complaints. They ripped off a senior and took over 3 1/2 months of my pension when it should have cost around 2000.00 but nope they charged 5985.00.. sickest people and low lifes ever. They will hold your belongings until you pay, and that is the scam. thousands more, won't answer phones, and pass the buck. So sad for anyone that ever uses them.

Stay Away From Them!
Very unhappy with moving experience. We chose the company based on the overall rating on the internet but ended up having the worse experience.
The pickup day was missed and we were not notified, after calling the company a few times, they finally confirmed the driver missed the pickup and rescheduled another pickup for a few days later. We had to reschedule our travel to the new location because of the delay.
The the drop off was also delayed by a few days. They promised max 6 business days to deliver but ended up delivering with a few delay. Again this is after we called the customer service line several times to find out when they will deliver the items.
Finally Furniture arrived with damages all over, and missing pieces, broken plates, chipped and broken wooden pieces. They offered $200 compensation to cover the damage which barely covers the cost of the damage/missed items, and the fee we paid to move all the items (close to $3200). Now we have to pay extra to a junk removal company to take these broken furniture away.

Unprofessional & Misleading!!
They did not honor the agreed upon moving time and even changed the time twice on the day of! they were late for the time they settled on and that was after 5pm! I would never have agreed to start moving at 5 as a single mom with two babies however all of my things were already packed up and boxed in the basement it was a nightmare. UNPROFESSIONAL! this did not happen with the last moving company I used called ADT.
Tara is the one who gives you all the information and helps you with the contract but then acts like she has no idea when you have questions about why she promised one thing and it ends up being another.
O a separate note, the actual movers were wonderful and profesional.
They were extremely misleading with their quote even though I went through all my items with them. BUYER BEWARE!!

But now the customer is responsible for storage fees and will likely be billed for this double drive.
Megative reviewers on the other hand tend to have a few more reviews under their belts. Slightly suspicious.
Check their BBB rating. They've even stopped talking to them because so many people were putting in complaints.
I mean, if you don't mind horrible customer service and extortion, by all means use this company. If you'd prefer NOT having to deal with that, make sure the company you choose to move your belongings is part of the Canadian Movers Association.

FRAUD & INTIMIDATION!
Once my 500 lbs (quote of $800) of patio furniture was in transit, I was then told that it would actually cost $5500 to have it delivered. I immediately engaged a lawyer and was able to receive my delivery, eventually, at the original quoted price. But it wasn't easy!!
Please share this with anyone planning to move within Canada. This company has defrauded hundreds, if not thousands of Canadians from their money, using threats and intimidation. I was one of the lucky ones, but I can't stand by while others still continue to be devastated.
I am not alone, see the below article:

We moved from Halifax to Toronto with this company and had absolutely the worse moving experience.
They missed the pickup date with no notice sent, when called, they said the driver missed the p/u and rescheduled the new p/u in a few day, and we had to delay our travel plan because of this.

This is the worst moving company, they give you a great estimate and are very friendly at first, then they get your stuff on their truck and send you an invoice for triple the estimate, they also ruined $2000 of our property to which they responded with only a claim form that has a $500 deductible and $0.60 per lbs per item. Talk about screw job. I am sharing our story everywhere so no one else gets screwed by this company. I repeat DO NOT USE MOVE ME AGAIN. I wish I could give it a negative 5 stars

This is the worst moving company I left a 200$ deposit a month ago to move out on 29th August. The movers were supposed to arrive at 9AM and instead came t 3PM. They just picked up the call once just to say that movers will be there. When we tried to call the drivers, they did not pick up instead were rude on arrival.
Also, the movers wasted lot of time negotiating with us for what was already promised to us like dismantling, assembly etc. For 4000 lbs, the quote given was $865, however they charged us $3384 for 6000 lbs. Additionally, they were not even ready to share the exact weight of the stuff loaded on to the truck.
Worst was when the truck left, some accountant called us saying that we instantly need to pay the whole amount of $3384. When we asked for the break up, she just hung up and did not pick up our calls. She was only talking on messages, continousuly threatening us that the truck will be re-routed if not paid in 20 minutes. When we kept asking for the break up, she said that we have to wait until Monday for the office hours to resume. Finally when the movers rrived after 2 hours at the destination, they were moving really slow and did not even do a room-to-room as promised. It really felt like some one taking you at ransom and getting the money. I was almost on the verge of callig 911 and complaining, just avoided as the whole situation put my child under lot of stress.
Looks like another modus operandi for fooling people and earning money.
I strongly suggest nobody use this company, it is a scam I will be taking legal action against them.

I paid for the deposit of the move, but after reading the bad reviews from the company, I decided to cancel the move. The Account sales Manager I called about the cancellation informed me she will give me a call after talking to her manager but I never got a response back. It also seems as though they have blocked my number, I have been trying to call them but it immediately hangs up and says user busy. I did not sign any contract nor did I receive any information about the deposit not being refundable from the company.

DO NOT USE!! MOONSTAR OR GREENWAY - They give you a quote and when they come and pick up, instead of Moonstar they sent Greenway Movers. They put an outrageous amount of pounds on the paperwork, and argued with me that the item weighed 6200lbs. The weight of 2 SUV's was pushed on the truck by two men (ya right) if you don't pay they harass you then keep your stuff, finaly after 6 months I finally got my item back. During this time they ignored the Better Business Bureau, you can try to call the police but they will tell you it's a civil matter and these companies know this and they get away with it!! They have multiple different phone lines, cell phones offices in strip malls. Different addresses etc. Then your stuff and it comes back damaged. After you pay them storage. Stay Away!!

Same company as Greenway Moving. Crooks!
The movers destroyed my TV, caused damage to my condo that made me lose my $500 deposit, and lost a few items in the move. The delivery of my furniture was also delayed a few days leaving me with nothing but the floor to sleep on.
After filing a claim and waiting for 3 months for a response and calling several times, they finally offered me $70 compensation for thousands in damages. I regret moving with this company. Even the final charge was almost triple what I was quoted.
The company and its employees are dishonest and should be avoided at all costs, or else you run the risk of piling on more headaches for yourself.

Terrible Service.
Terrible service. Wish there was a 0 star option. FRAUD!
Moved from Kingston to Windsor.
To start, they are the same company called Greenway Movers. To be honest, Michael was very approachable by phone and he gave me the best price. BE CAREFUL! They try to lock you in once you pay the $100 deposit.
Once the 2 movers arrived with their truck, I reviewed the invoice. Michael mentioned the mattress cover was included but they did not know about that. I made sure that's clarified.
They were respectful and good with taking out all my prepackaged items.
They estimated my weight at 3000 lbs which I did not agree with and decided to go with the scale fee. Make sure you initiate at the right numbers because THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION between any of the members.
After they left, I received a call that there is a mechanical issue with the truck and my delivery will be delayed. This was super inconvenient for me as I was staying at a friend's without any clothes. Their best compensation was a 5% off the weight fee. I then receive a call that the delivery will arrive Sunday, I let them know I booked 1-4pm because the morning wasn't available at my apartment building and this person said no problem.
After a day or two, I receive a call from them that the invoice is ready and I need to pay. I asked for the invoice to be sent to my email address. They say that the accounting department is having trouble and can't send the invoice, and expect me to pay blindly. The invoice was $500 MORE than my calculation basing it on THEIR weight. They send the email to the wrong email address. I keep trying to call and finally I receive a call that my delivery is at 6 AM. I LIVE IN AN APARTMENT AND COMMUNICATED THE ELEVATOR IS BOOKED 1 - 4 PM MULTIPLE TIMES. Then they transferred me to Michelle, who I communicated with that I am trying to resolve the time of delivery and she responds: you need to pay or your delivery will not arrive. This was incredibly unprofessional as there was a miscommunication about the weight, the email, the arrival date & time, the accounting system is down, their truck has broken down as well, and now threats that they won't deliver the items if I don't pay. I also have been having to call and check in with five different people on a daily basis, each giving me a different answer, and not being aware of what's going on. I try to explain to Michelle to go through the cost with me, she yells, rushes the process, tells me there is an added cost for price match (which makes no sense price matching is a reduction in the final amount), and keeps saying I need to pay. She tells me on the phone (the first time I am ever hearing of this because they sent the email to the wrong person and of course no one called me or informed me out of the many times I called them) that the items won't deliver unless I pay before 4pm and it was 3:35. All I asked was to see the invoice. She finally sent to the correct email about 10 minutes later expecting me to pay blindly without an invoice or anything. I replied to the email to explain and tried to call multiple times but no answer. Still waiting at this time.

Awful.
Agree 100 there should be a zero star option and the details of the review from June 26th are basically identical to my experience--it's almost spooky. This must be their "business model". The price was 3.5 times the quote given and some of my items were damaged (cannot stand the thought of contacting them so this is just a straight-up loss ). No upside.
My fifth work-related move in ten years and way more than I've ever paid with no transparency. I should have spent a little more time to read reviews and to find one BBB accredited. Hopefully someone can learn from my mistake--moving is already stressful enough.

I wouldn't waste my money of this company.
To begin with they showed up late, informed me that dismantling a bed would cost, tried to add 5 hours onto time because of weight scale location, and held my belongings hostage, including medications, until I agreed to [ay 1,000$ more. When I started to unpack I discovered 2 broken dressers with lots of chips and dents, a big dent in my printer and broken boxes. As a senior citizen and they have successfully depleted most of my bank account.

Long-distance move from Toronto, ON to Quebec, QC
Fraud - This is Not a Moving Company, This is a Booking Agent !
The date and time agreed with the Moon Star Van Lines for the full in-house packing and moving of our 2-bedroom apartment was March 29, 2020 at noon. The day before they called saying that the team would be 7 hours late (the new arrival time being 7pm). We responded that the moving team would not have enough time to do the full in-house packing and move everything down the elevator by 10pm, which is the absolute latest time movers are allowed in the building as per the condo rules. The scheduling person reassured us that she was sending 3 professional men and that they would have no issues getting everything done in 3 hours. We received a call from the truck driver at 7:50pm saying that they were running late and that the moving team could not make it before midnight. Considering that we had mentioned to Moon Star Van Lines several times that the use of moving elevators is strictly prohibited past 10pm, the team knew very well that starting a move at midnight was not an option and that we would have to reschedule. We could not get a hold of anyone at moon Star Vanline OR Greenway moving at any point while waiting..
After several calls with the Moon Star Van Lines & Greenway Moving to try to reschedule the move, the only time slot the moving team and the moving elevator were both available was on March 31st, 2020. The elevator being available until no later than 8:00pm that day, the company agreed to send movers before then. Once again, we warn the Moon Star Van Lines & Greenway Moving that they would need to start packing well before 5:30pm in order to complete the move by 8pm but we were reassured that the movers were 3 professional man that would have no issues getting everything done in 2.5 hours. The movers arrived at 7pm that night (1.5 hours late), leaving them with only with 1 hour to pack a 2-bedroom apartment and move everything down the moving elevator. At 8pm, the elevator was reserved to be used by another resident in the building and we had to negotiate with security to let us continue our move until 10pm. Once again, we told Moon Star Van Lines & Greenway Moving that the use of moving elevators is strictly prohibited past 10pm. By 10pm, the movers were still packing, they had been warned several times between 7-10pm that at 10pm, they had to be done moving everything. However, they were still using the elevators at 10:20pm and as a result, we lost our security deposit.
Moon Star Van Lines & Greenway Moving were provided with a detailed list of the items in the apartment that were required to be dismantled and moved oand agreed on that the quote for the service provided reflected the move of ALL of those items. However, due to the movers' serious delay and the poor scheduling of Moon Star Van Lines & Greenway Moving, several items, including a major piece of furniture, were left behind by movers in the apartment. The movers said that they had no time to dismantle and move those items and that they would reschedule a pickup the following day. On April 1, 2020, the company said the delivery truck was on its way and that they could no longer pick up the items that our only option at this point was to claim the value of the goods left behind. Those items have therefore remained in an apartment that we are no longer tenant of because the company failed to move them with the remaining of our belongings.
In addition to the missing items, the several items were damage by the movers. Most of the items below were NOT wrapped during the move and had simply been thrown the in the truck with no protective blanket or wrapping paper. We claimed for $8,900 to their insurance company but it turns out, they are NOT properly insured for damages and loss and they offered to settle for $100..

This company is also known as Greenway moving. We moved from Toronto to Halifax on 29 of July and a person called Michael quoted $845. Ours is a small one bed room apartment. DO NOT book with this company!
We were quoted $1800 for a 240km move. They started an hour late (12pm). We weren't told until 10:55pm that we wouldn't be getting our furniture until the next day @ 9am! After sleeping on the floor of our empty house, at 9:30am the following day, we got a call telling us the truck was STILL IN TORONTO, and that our furniture would not be delivered and unloaded until we agreed to pay $6,000 in cash (because their credit card machine was down...RED FLAG #10!!). We had to call the OPP to meet us at our home because we had no idea if our furniture was actually in the truck when it arrived since they would not open it...or if they would leave with our cash and our furniture! They were actually holding our furniture for a $6,000 ransom; $4,200 more than what they quoted! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They quote you low to get you booked in and then get you in the end by holding your belongings hostage!!!

I was quoted $600 for my move. I told their sales rep Michael that I wanted to make sure the quote was accurate because I heard that quotes were way off from what people actually paid. I sent a list of all of my items to be moved. He re-quoted for $660 assuring me the quote was accurate. The final bill was over $2800. Ridiculous. I was forced to pay cash on the day of the move otherwise my stuff would not be delivered. I have left 4 phone messages so far and send 4 e-mails. They refuse to respond. I have asked for an invoice, none has been sent. As far as I can tell, this company is running an illegal operation. Stay far away.

CAM has received many complaints about Move Me Again / Roadway Movers and Moonstar Van Lines / Greenway Moving as well as O Canada Movers and Safe Bound Movers. All of these companies appear to operate from the same parent company. On June 8, 2021, CAM received a complaint about All Over Canada Van Line said to also be operating as East Coast Star Van Lines. The complainant advised CAM that these two companies have the same ownership as Move Me Again. As always, we strongly suggest you research your mover before hiring them.
*new* June 18, 2021 - Another decision has been rendered by the Ontario Superior Court against MOVE ME AGAIN TRANSPORTATION INC., SAFE BOUND MOVING AND STORAGE INC. and CEMAL OZTURK. The customers received a quote for a two-part move and between-move storage from Safe Bound Moving and Storage Inc. The quote was based on 10,000 lbs of household goods, for about $5000. The customers paid a deposit of $400 and provided an inventory. The mover confirmed that the quote remained unchanged and assured that the first shipment was under 4,000 lbs. After loading the truck for the first move, the movers advised the customers that both moves were overweight and demanded an additional $700. The movers would not leave unless $300 was paid to the mover's personal email address. $400 was to be paid on the day of the second move. The movers also had the customer sign/initial a piece of paper that included weights for the two parts of the move, telling the customer that everything would be covered off by the additional $700. The customer was also told that, because of COVID-19, he'd have to get a copy of the document and the inventory from head office. The customers repeatedly asked for a copies of the documents and an invoice for the additional $700 charges. Because they couldn't get the requested information, the customers hired a lawyer who indicated that, if Safe Bound did not provide it, they would "infer that Safe Bound Moving no longer intends to fully honor the agreements, in which case the agreements will be rescinded". Safe Bound provided an invoice for $4,880.75, which included a separate storage charge $632.80. The customers were only credited with a payment of $200. Because the terms of the contract had "dramatically increased", the customers decided to rescind their agreement with Safe Bound, under the Consumer Protection Act. Safe Bound claimed that their quotations state that the cost was subject to change. They also said that the driver of the moving truck explained the options for charges based on flat fee or scaled weight to the customer before they signed. The flat fee initially quoted was for 9,000 lbs, but it was then lowered to 8,000 lbs. The customers agreed to the flat rate option and signed/initialled the contract which was with Move Me Again Transportation Inc. (MMA), since they were acting as a subcontractor for Safe Bound. The Superior Court found that the customers were required to pay $2200 for part one of the move and for storage, less $500 for prior payments and $1000 in costs, for a net amount owing of $700. In the decision, the Court stated that "the MMA Moving Contract is not a binding agreement between the parties; it was signed after the goods had been taken from the house and loaded onto the truck and without the plaintiffs having any real opportunity to review the contract and compare it to the terms in the Quotation." Read the decision.
June 1, 2021 - In a new milestone, the Ontario Superior Court has endorsed a judgement that will take scammers who ignore estimates to the task. This was a typical scam. In this case, Move Me Again gave a lowball quote, approximately $3,700. The customer agreed to the price and paid a deposit. Once the shipment was loaded, the customer was rushed through signing the paperwork, which included a line that they agree to pay a flat fee on 15,000 lbs. Move Me Again quickly left with their goods and were not to be seen again until the new charge of $9,677.25 was paid. The Superior Court ruled that Move Me Again was in contravention of the contract with the customer and would therefore only receive $1,850 for partial transportation of the shipment. Also, Move Me Again must allow the customers to claim their possessions. As the court concluded 'If suppliers do still carelessly or recklessly throw out low-ball and unreliable quotes, then they may well be held to them, pursuant to the relevant Act.' Read the decision.
December 4, 2020 - Global News: "Ontario family who relocated to New Brunswick warns others about moving company concerns" A couple who recently moved to Moncton is speaking out after being saddled with a $15,000 bill. The couple says initial estimates were for less than half of that, and now they want to warn others. They hired Greenway Moving and Storage Inc.
November 27, 2020 update - Ottawa Citizen: "After five weeks, Gatineau woman will finally get her belongings back" A court has issued an interim order to the company, Move Me Again Transportation, to return the victims belongings. As Nancy Irvine, president of the Canadian Association of Movers says, "an unsuspecting customer can be extorted for thousands of dollars more than the original quote, have their things hidden with no recourse but to pay the ransom fee."
November 27, 2020 - Ottawa Citizen: Adam: Consumers, be careful – a few unreliable moving companies could pull the rug out from under you. Beware what company you hire next time you are contemplating a move. Often, what you see at first glance is not what you get.
November 19, 2020 - Ottawa Citizen: Adam: 'I really feel like I am being held hostage.' Woman says she can't get her belongings back from moving company. The tactic is simple: a company gives a customer a low, attractive quote, but when the movers show up, they raise the fee dramatically, demand payment or seize the furniture. "We have dozens and dozens of complaints about this outfit and their shameful business practices," CAM president Nancy Irvine said in an email."
October 27, 2020 - The CBC issued this story out of Hamilton: Hamilton woman is in 'pure shock' after $3,600 moving bill. The Better Business Bureau say they have 'lots of concerns' about Moonstar Van Lines. "I can confirm that Moonstar, Move Me Again, and Greenway Moving are not Canadian Association of Movers members, and never will be, as they are the antithesis of what a Certified Professional Mover should be," says CAM president Nancy Irvine.
September 11, 2020 - The Better Business Bureau (BBB) warns that consumers have complained that Move Me Again substantially increased costs from initial quotes that led them to enter into a contract. According to the BBB:
- "BBB files indicate a pattern of complaints concerning billing increases, delayed deliveries and customer service issues. On May 5th 2020, BBB sent a letter to notify the business of its concerns and requested that they work towards correcting the underlying reason for the complaints."
- "Move Me Again advised BBB that consumers were not comprehensively reviewing the terms and conditions of their moving contracts and correspondences with Move Me Again and this has caused the pattern of complaints, claiming no wrongdoing on their part. However, when BBB requested to review the contracts and emails that Move Me Again sends to their consumers we did not receive a response. Subsequent follow ups have been unsuccessful."
There have been newspaper articles about various situations this summer involving Move Me Again. Consumers have been using words to describe their relationship with this company as 'extortion':
August 7, 2020 - CAM has received many complaints about Moonstar Vanlines aka Greenway Moving regarding unethical business practices.
Regarding Greenway, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is investigating:
- "BBB files indicate a pattern of complaints concerning billing increases, delayed deliveries and customer service issues. On August 6th 2020, BBB sent a letter to notify the business of its concerns and requested that they work towards correcting the underlying reason for the complaints. BBB did not receive a response."

Total money lost $5,000
Type of a scam Moving
Paid $8,000 in protest under the threat of not receiving our belongings
Quote (represented as "MoonStar"), estimated 5,000 pounds for the move of a three-bedroom townhouse, for a total of $2,370. When the movers arrived on Aug. 12, we did a full walkthrough of the home and detailed review of everything that was to be loaded onto the truck. Representatives did not make any comments about it being likely to be significantly different from that.
After everything was loaded on to the truck, one of the men suddenly said the total was likely to be well over 20,000 pounds. He offered what he said was a "deal" to sign a "flat rate" of 19,000, and told us the charges would be even higher if we insisted on going to the scale. We had previously been told in writing the maximum the truck could even hold is 14,000 pounds, and the truck was nowhere near full. The man providing the 20,000-plus pound estimate said this was based on his "16 years' experience" and only showed the front of the contract.
After receiving an invoice for more than $10,000, (more than quadruple what we were quoted!) we appealed to the company's "guarantee" to make our move "easy and stress free" by email on Aug. 14. We then experienced a variety of high pressure tactics through a series of phone calls, during which we were told that if we did not pay $8,000 immediately, we would not receive our belongings. (We have records and audio recordings of calls). This included violations such as refusal to disclose where our belongings were, or to offer a reasonable cost to break the contract (We were told it would cost the full amount.)
When we attempted to pay this through MasterCard, a method of payment the company purports to accept, along with Visa, we were told "the terminals are down" indefinitely. We then attempted to pay on a MasterCard through PayPal, yet again were told they could not accept this universal method of payment, despite the failure to accept MasterCard as advertised. We then offered to pay the amount to a lawyer in trust, which they again refused. So, under duress, we borrowed $8,000 and paid it into a TD account directly.
There is no way our belongings weighed 19,000 pounds. As the attached photo indicates, that was even written on a post-it note attached to a copy of the contract for the delivery driver (literally "it's not 19k"). Clearly they know this was not the correct weight and that the difference was significant enough as to warrant notifying the delivery drivers.
Only days later did we realize the contract had an entire back page of terms and conditions we were not shown and did not agree to. These terms include an allowance for a physical volume measurement in lieu of a scale. (Bullet 2 of Clause 4 re: "Weight") We were able to obtain a physical measurement of the space the items occupied, which was witnessed by the delivery drivers and an outside party and is documented in the attached photo (we have more but there's a limit to # of attachments).
Our belongings occupied a length of 13 feet 7 inches in the 8-foot-by-8-foot trailer box. Rounding that up to 14 feet, this is a volume of 896 cubic feet, or approximately 25.5 cubic metres. We offered to settle the matter at $3,796.80, requesting a repayment of $4,203.20, but the company did not respond

First to Review
We had a terrible experience with Greenway Moving. It was a short move in Ontario. The van showed up with no company logo, and was too small for our stuff. They didn't offer to move the remaining things and no one was in the office when we called to get their help with the issue. I had to drive back and forth several times in my car to fit the rest. They also forgot their tools so I had to dis-assemble my own furniture. They also had said assembly is included during the quote, but then the moving guys said they want $75 per bed for assembly and suddenly they had tools. They left us several unassembled beds. They wouldn't start unloading the truck until we paid the balance despite us not being happy with the bed assembly issue. They also said they wouldn't cover our sofas during the move unless we paid $30 per sofa cover. When we tried to express our concerns after the move, they said they can't do anything and apologized without offering anything. Eventually I was connected with their claims department who responded initially then ignored our emails. I would stay away from this company. They should be reported to the better business bureau. So disappointing to trust a salesperson but then get poor service with no compensation.
As you can see, they have many different websites with the same or similar design, and all their businesses have scam reviews everywhere.
What we don't understand is how they have NOT been arrested by the police and continuing to operate their scam business.
If you have any scam reports, reviews, complaints about this business, please post them in the comments section below below, if you've already reported them to the police, please include the name of the police officer and badge number of whom you reported this to, and what the police advised you, the more details you provide the more helpful it would be, we hope that the police does their job and they get prosecuted to the FULL extent of the law.
